We spent 2 perfect nights at The Inn at Herr Ridge June 25 & 26. We had dinner at the restaurant in the Inn on Saturday evening and the food, service, and extensive wine list were superb!!! We ate in the glass enclosed front porch - very romantic and the entire experience was sublime. We had arrived late afternoon Saturday and were directed to our room which had a chiled bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte, chocolate covered strawberries and a wonderful cheese and fruit platter waiting for us!!! .... The room was large with a king bed which was quite comfortable, a gas fireplace and a wonderful bath with a 2 person jacuzzi, thick plush bathrobes and slippers and wonderful soaps and lotions. We had massages scheduled prior to dinner and what a wonderful way to unwind and relax after our 3 + hour drive to Gettysburg and a great precurser to the best dinner experience we have had in years!! Breakfast the next morning was amazing - creme brulee french toast and cranberry sausage - delicious!! The chef was not only incredible preparing our meal the eveinging before but provided us with a gastonomic experience for breakfast the next morning = the following morning he again prepared a fantastic Eggs Benedict served on toasted croissants rather than english muffins - Yummy!!!!! We wished we had eaten dinner at the Inn again on Sunday but were on a time constratint as we had a Ghost Tour scheduled with Miss Betty - a fabulous experience - which NO ONE should miss! Miss Betty is very personable and provides a wonderul history of each the sites she visits on her ghost tours ....I did not meet any ghosts - but my camera acted very strangely at one of the haunted Inns we visited on our tour and I could not get it to work properly. Suddenly, once we were away from the Inn, the camera started working perfectlyagain - very odd if you ask me.... Back to the Inn at Herr Ridge - my husband asked for bottle of champagne to be chilled and waiting in our room upon our return from Miss Betty;s ghost tour and sure enough - when we got to our new room ( Room # 4 - where we had an interesting "encounter") - a wonderful bottle awaited us. Room 4 was beautifukl with a gas fireplace also - large bathroom with 2 person jacuzzi and robes and slippers. We have to say that the service at this Inn was beyond GREAT!!! The owner Steve, has created an exceptional bed and breakfast experience with very thoughtful touches that make this Inn so inviting (cookies, and popcorn in the sitting areas) and a staff that goes out of its way to make its guests feel special (the loan of an umbrella on a misty night out)!! We will be back and have told our family and firends about how wonderful the Inn at Herr Ridge is!!!

I made reservations at the Inn for my husbands 41st birthday getaway and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The Inn is situated at the Battlefield within perfect proximity to the square dowtown for all of the activities yet just far enough up the road for quiet and relaxation. We were welcomed with a warm greeting and brought to our room, room #7 where the staff had complimentary champagne waiting to kick off the birthday weekend. The room was very nice, albeit we had an" unusual" experience pretty much right away where the radio went on, on its own while we were lying in bed. We checked and the alarm was not set, the button was in the off position. Upon checking with the front desk we were informed radios have a tendency to turn on and off on their own throughout the rooms. Hmmmm.....
The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was fantastic and the proximity to everything in Gettysburg was great.
There are so many choice for dining in Gettysburg and I highly recommend dining at the Inn. Our dining experience was a party for our palates. It was truly a treat.
We have only recently in the last year started chosing Inn's as our travel lodging over luxury hotels to try and get the true flavor of the area and we have been very pleased with our choices. This was no exception.

My husband, daughter and son-in-law stayed two nights at the Inn at Herr Ridge (Rooms 6 & 7) as part of our Philadelphia/Gettysburg vacation. We loved Gettysburg and staying at the Inn at Herr Ridge made the trip even more enjoyable. Although the house was old, the rooms were spotlessly clean (I check for that at every check-in) and both had a great bath. The champagne and cheese and crackers waiting in the room were nice touches. We ate dinner at the restaurant one night and absolutely should have eaten there both nights as the food was delicious. (We had a table on the glassed-in porch overlooking the battlefield) I would love to go back one day as the employees and the experience were both priceless. Don't miss the Inn at Herr Ridge!!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Herr Ridge for a relaxing anniversary getaway. The B&B was remarkable. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our every need. We stayed in the lodge themed room; it was very spacious and extremely clean. We enjoyed our stayed and will most definitely return. We highly recommend Inn at Herr Ridge.

Recently my husband and I spent 2 nights at the Inn at Herr Ridge. We had not stayed there in a long time but it was just as delightful as we remembered. We especially enjoyed the creme brulee french toast our first morning.
The only problem was the stairs getting to the rooms. My husband has hip problems so the stairs were difficult. That problem was resolved for future visits when Gina tooks us over to the Annex at checkout. It is a separate building with two ground level rooms which are handicapped accessible. We will definitely be back!!

We stayed in room 4 in the original section of the building for one night in December 2010. The staff could not have been more accomodating. The room was very nice and clean with a gas fireplace and a modern bathroom, including a Jacuzzi tub. Outside the room, there was a common area with a tv, comfortable furniture, a small fridge with soda and water and tea. The included breakfast was very good. I highly recommend it!
