This business is not necessarily for your average tourist. They buy, appraise and sell original period weapons, documents, books, and everything from surgeon's kits to musical instruments. This stuff is the real deal. If you are looking for a souvenir go else ware. of you are looking for an authentic bayonet for that original 1842 Springfield musket you have - THIS is the place to go. Their web site is likewise a real resource for the serious collector. A staple in Gtown since I can remember (and I am 50)!

Tons of original Civil War and other militaria for sale, including a large selection of Civil War era weapons!

Husband and son thoroughly enjoyed the many displays of weapons from the civil war. We were able to wander around as much as they wanted. Very nice would recommend to any one with interest in guns.

It's really nice to look around in. They sell bullets from off the battle field, and the bullets here are cheaper than anywhere else in town. Even if you don't buy something it's really nice to look around at everything they have. I think they have good prices for their merchandise

The interior of Horse Soldier is bigger than it appears - you'll walk through room after room of relics, the overwhelming majority of which are from the Civil War. Several cabinets are dedicated to items found in Gettysburg, sure to delight any tourist looking to take home a piece of our nation's history. Prices here are higher than in stores located elsewhere, though you'll be offered a certificate of authenticity, and the reputability of a business that's been around since 1971. The only drawback we experienced was a sales staff that could have been more helpful; they were happy to answer questions, but uninterested in going the extra mile to help us identify the perfect takeaway. Visit their online store to get more background information on items for sale, though you'll have to wade through items that have been sold to other buyers. Overall, a very satisfactory experience - a clean store, well-organized, and trustworthy sellers.
