“Best Ice Cream Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Visit Mr. G's at the twin sycamores. This ice cream shop has the best homemade and soft serve ice cream we have ever tasted. Lots of flavours to choose from. You won't be disappointed. The ice cream was so good, when we visited Gettysburg, we stopped in at Mr. G's three days in a row.

“Lots of Flavor!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

Being a huge ice cream fan, I had to check this place out in Gettysburg. Not only does the building have a lot of history and character, but the ice cream was very good! The waffle cone tasted like it was right out of the oven...

“Great ice cream and public restrooms!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

The folks over at the Original Ghosts of Gettysburg walking tours suggested this place since my husband and I needed a bathroom before our tour. I'm the kind of person who doesn't feel comfortable asking to use the facilities without buying something, so I got one of their flurries. I'm pretty glad I did. It was great. It was their homemade soft serve mixed with peanut butter cups. I got a small, but they didn't skimp on the size. It was much larger than I expected. The place was busy well through the night, and a lot of people seemed to be getting the hard ice cream. Considering it was mid October and temperatures were chilly, it had to be good ice cream!

There isn't a lot of room inside to eat, but they have a really nice courtyard outside with plenty of benches and seating. They also have a nice gift shop located at the back of their courtyard.

If you stop to use the restrooms, you have to go inside to get the restroom key, but they don't pressure you to buy anything or give you a nasty look. Lots of people walked in to get the key without getting any ice cream while we were there waiting for our ghost tour to begin. We discovered pretty quickly that there aren't a lot of public restrooms in downtown Gettysburg, so props to Mr. G's for providing one that is free and clean.
