“AMAZING Everything!!”

This past weekend my fiance and I stayed at the Inn at White Oak. I cannot describe accurately how wonderful our experience was. The property is breathtaking - in person, you're absolutely mesmerized by its serenity and peacefulness. In addition, Jillian and Sam and Jay and Jeanie are the consummate hosts. We felt right at home in their wonderfully appointed Commander's Quarters, spa, dining areas, etc. They are friendly and kind and have a true heart for hospitality. Finally, we were married on the property and of course communicated for months before with Jillian. Everything was perfect. I didn't have to worry about a thing. I couldn't have imagined a better wedding weekend.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Commander's Quarters as it was our special weekend. Given another time, we'...

We stayed at the Inn at White Oak over a weekend recently and fell in love with the place! We were greeted by the owners as we arrived and were given a guided tour of the entire facility. The large variety of open common areas have great amenities: game room with pool table, library, movie theater with a large selection, sitting rooms, a tea room, and a small kitchen with always available coffee and snacks are just the beginning. We actually stayed in two different rooms while we were there:

First, the Commander's Quarters is HUGE; with a "commanding" view of the back yard, a private deck, and a very large hexagonal copper bath tub, this is a room where you can relax and forget the rest of the world.

The Second night we stayed in the General's Quarters. This room was actually our favorite of the two. While not as large as the Commander's Quarters, it was just as elegant and it was more cozy! This room also has a sweeping view of the back yard.

And speaking of the back yard, wow! Off the patios, there are ponds, trees, quiet nooks with seating where you can relax, a one mile walking trail in the fields beyond is on the property as well. Just the place to get away from the hustle of life and relax!

And if you're looking for great food, look no further! The breakfasts we had looked and tasted like anything you'd see on any food network TV show featuring gourmet food! Seriously! Unbelievably awesome!

Although we didn't make use of the private spa facilities, I guarantee we will next time! And speaking of next time, we decided this would be our private retreat each year (probably several times each year) forever!

If you have the opportunity to come to Gettysburg and want to stay away from all the touristy locations, or you just need a private place to unwind for a weekend, a week, or a month... this is the place! Heck, we asked if we could just move in...

Room Tip: Try the General's Quarters! Romantic, spacious, and an awesome bathroom!

Every single time I visit this gorgeous B&B I feel as if I've "come home." It's utterly breathtaking in every sense. The welcoming is always heart-warming, the food is spectacular, and each and every single detail is simply perfect. Both ammenities and serenity abound. This extraordinary Inn is one that I recommend for any type of stay, or for any travel reason. Before you leave, you'll be planning your next visit!

Room Tip: They are ALL gorgeous, quiet, amazingly comfortable, impeccably clean, and intricately decorated.

Words cannot explain our experience at the Inn at White Oak. I went with my boyfriend for a few days. We spent two nights in the Colonel's Quarters, we were graciously upgraded from the Lieutenant's Quarters which was beautiful enough. We were greeted by friendly couple Jillian and Sam who own the B&B. In the morning you are greeted by Jillian's parents for breakfast which which is delicious! Everything about this B&B was amazing the views, tranquility, and staff. By all means spend the money and stay here you will not regret it!

Room Tip: Every room is big the pictures show it no justice.

Where do I start?

Let’s see, after searching for romantic getaways surrounding the
Washington DC area I stumbled across The Inn at White Oak. After
reading the rave reviews I decided to give it a shot and booked a stay
for me and my girlfriend. When we arrived we were greeted by "Mom" and
"Dad", who then gave us a tour of The Inn. To put it simply, the
place was perfect. Each room was designed and decorated beautifully.
The personal touches and meticulous attention to detail was amazing
and unbelievable. Not to mention, the place was spotless!

We stayed in the Major's Quarters and it had a very dreamy feel to it.
The room had a fireplace and jacuzzi tub which we really enjoyed. We
also liked that we were able to adjust our own thermostat. While
there, we took advantage of the "breakfast in bed" package. On both
mornings our breakfast was delivered on time by Mom and Dad and it was
"to die for". We could not believe how good it was. We also got the
couples massage and facial - the spa staff was professional and the
setup was relaxing. It was just what we needed to complete our
romantic weekend.

Coming in we had high expectations but Jillian and Sam definitely
covered all the bases in making this the perfect Bed and Breakfast.

This was our first stay at a Bed & Breakfast and it was truly wonderful. Our hosts, Jillian and Sam were so gracious and welcoming. The Inn is beautiful inside and out. Breakfast was a real treat; several courses, each one delicious and cheerfully served by Jillian's parents. I purchased Jillian's cookbook to (hopefully) re-create some of the tasty dishes at home! My husband and I stayed in the Major's Quarters; a lovely room with a jacuzzi tub. The grounds are beautiful as are the ponds that are well stocked with Koi and other varieties of fish. How relaxing it was to come back "home" after a day of sightseeing in Gettysburg. I hope to return someday...I wish we lived closer! Carrie & Chuck - MI

As soon as we drove onto the grounds and as soon as the front door was opened, we could not believe how beautiful Jillian and Sam's home was. We were greet by her parents, which we lovely and made you feel like a part of their family. We stayed in the Commanders quarters which literally took my breath away. For that matter, every room was so meticulously decorated and the grounds were spiritually inviting. We look forward to our next stay here!!!
