“great hotel”

The Country Inn & Suites was just what we wanted when we decided to go to Gettysburg.
We had a king suite and it was very comfortable and QUIET. All of the employees were especially nice and Kim was really a big help in pointing out restaurants for us to try. The breakfast was a little better than typical and both of the women working the breakfast room were very helpful. We checked out other hotels while we were in the area and felt that we had picked the best one. Of course the Battlefiled was very interesting and really felt the guide we had painted the batlle for us better than we could have done on our own. We also took the Shriver House tour which again was well worth it. Then we did the town tour which again helped us get the feel of the time and the people.
The restaurants in the area are lacking somewhat. We tried the Dobbin House which was just OK. The Pub on the square had the best salads. The Blue Parrot Bistro had decent food but was way overpriced and the service was lousy. Olivia's was the best and had entertainment on Thurs. nights. Amy Rose was very entertaining.
All in all we loved our trip to Gettysburg.

We stayed in the "VIP Suite" which features a private bedroom with a king bed and an extended living area with sofa bed and conference table. We opted for this larger suite to give our family of 5 some extra space. 2 televisions is great for kids to tune into one, while travel weary parents watch something else on the other tube. the price of $175 was well worth it, and the smaller suites are even more reasonably priced.

This is a very clean new property. As stated in other reviews - Excellent place to stay, less than 10 minutes from downtown Gettysburg and adjacent to an outlet shopping center.

front desk staff is helpful and friendly.

free morning breakfast includes coffee (Maxwell House - yuck!), bagels, toaster, waffle irons, juices, cereals, fruits, etc... very good way to start the day. You'll just need to go elsewhere to find better coffee (though in Gettysburg there really aren't any good coffee shops we could find).

indoor pool - very clean.

shower pressure could have been a bit stronger, but perhaps that is due to recent federal regulations restricting shower head pressure.

parking is more than ample with plenty of handicap spaces.

The employees make this hotel -- they are super friendly and strive for service excellence. Rooms are clean and attractive, just stay away from the first floor rooms facing the gas station -- noisy!! Otherwise, this is a great place to stay. You can walk to the outlets, and it was still in easy driving distance of attractions in downtown Gettysburg. Take the self-directed car tour throught the battle grounds. Boyd's Bear Country is highly recommended, if you have children. Use the coupon booklet from the hotel to save big money. You must visit the Dobbin House and "Civil-La-Tea" Room downtown. Both have good food and ambience.

My family and I stayed here for a visit with my cousin, 4 adults and 4 toddlers in all. We all enjoyed the hotel and it was very close to what others have written. The suites are quite big and comfortable. The staff is very nice and accomodating and the breakfast was quite good. The location is okay, about a 10 minute drive from Gettysburg proper, but 2 minute walk from the outlets.

The pool? Well, they said that they were waiting for a part that explained why it was so cold. Now, having read the reviews from December I have to wonder from what country or planet the part comes! How can it take that long to repair the heater? The kids didn't mind and the hottub was lukewarm anyway, so we still had fun.

We would definitely stay there again!
