Attraction details
Owner description: See the ENTIRE battlefield at one time and watch the troop movements for ALL three days of battle. The battlefield covers 6,000 acres, an area large enough to be difficult to visualize. The Gettysburg Diorama will put the battle into perspective when you see the ENTIRE battlefield as it appeared in 1863. Carefully researched and meticulously assembled, the Diorama contains over 20,000 hand-painted soldiers, horses, cannons and buildings. Picture the battle through the eyes of Generals Meade and Lee as a narrative unfolds in miniature with a light and sound effects experience you won't forget.

Nice overview of the battle. Nice gift shop. If this is the only thing you are planning on seeing, review your history before seeing the diorama. The explanation is very good but does move through the battle quickly.

Sorry if the program seemed to go quickly for you. There's so much to tell about the three days of battle action and we didn't want the program to exceed 30 min. But we're happy to hear you enjoyed the show and that the Diorama gave you a nice overview. Thank You!

“Great Overview”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

Recommend to get an overview of the 3 days of battle. You are seated and looking down on battlefield. Lights direct you to each area and day of battle.

“See after Battlefield Tour”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

Excellent diorama. Suggest taking a battlefied tour first then going to this diorama. You'll walk in with 1st had knowledge of the landscape and better appreciate the diorama. Wonderful exhibits around the walls and excellent narration. Don't miss this one. Price was very decent.

“Great before you view the battlefield”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

This is a great learning experience if you are new to the Battle of Gettysburg. Lights and sounds help you understand the movements of the armies. We took our 6 and 9 year old children and they were entertained teh entire time, about 30 minutes, I think.

“Marvel at the intricacy”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

This attraction began as a display in a local campground. Recently it was moved into the town of Gettysburg to give more people a chance to see this marvel in miniature. For a fee, visitors are treated to a sound and light show reliving hour by hour the battle of Gettysburg. This model is an accurate representation of the huge battlefield. One can appreciate both the history and the skill in creating this masterpiece.

Yes, a lot of work went into makeing the model. It's our goal to give a better understanding
of the layout of Gettysburg battlefield, and to show the troop movements for the three days of action. Thank You for the great review!
