“Yet another excellent stay...”
Reviewed March 19, 2012

My husband and I just returned from a weekend getaway at the Inn and every detail of this charming place is perfect. The Inn strikes the perfect balance of "history" with "comfort". Nothing feels forced, but the interior design is amazing. From the hand-stitched quilts to local artisan pottery, each room (we stayed in the Mary Juliet Danner suite on the first floor) has its own personality and style. The rooms are extremely spacious, and we had no shortage of coffee, fruit, bottled water, and other sundries to make our stay relaxing. The location cannot be beat, its fun to sit with your coffee or tea in the morning and watch people milling about outside. I was concerned at first with the potential for "street noise", but we stayed over a busy holiday weekend and didn't hear a peep! Most of all, the service at the Inn is above what you often get a five star resorts. Our host, Greg, made sure our every comfort was considered, and always had suggestions for places to eat, things to see, and we learned a lot about the history of the property as well. We are looking forward to our next stay at the Inn, hopefully very soon!

The individuals working there always checked to make sure that we had what we needed. Myself and my husband wanted to do an early morning tour and Greg arranged things for us. I would stay here again

My family and I came to Gettysburg on a weekend in March. We wanted everyone to have his/her own bedroom so I rented the Eva Danner Townhouse and Mary Juliet Suite.

First, the location is great. It sits right on the Lincoln Square, right in the middle of town. But the bedroom in the Mary Juliet Suite, which faces the square, was separated by a kitchenette so noise from the street was not a problem. Although the suite is essentially one room (with a bathroom), the bedroom area sits far enough away from the windows. The Mary Juliet Suite consisted of a king size bed, a kitchenette, living room with a remote-controlled fireplace, and a full bath.

The Eva Danner Townhouse sits further back in the building, and it faces a tiny, locked courtyard. So none of the bedrooms face a noisy street. The townhouse has a full kitchen (refrigerator, stove with oven, dishwasher, sink, and microwave). The living room was comfortable with a large couch and 2 chairs and one flat screen TV (that should probably be bigger for the size of the room). There were 3 bedrooms upstairs, 2 of which faced the courtyard. One bedroom has queen size bed and several windows. Another larger bedroom has a queen size bed and no windows. The 3rd bedroom has a twin bed and several windows. The one full bathroom is down the hall. It has a washer and dryer, and it quite narrow.

The manager (I think that's his title), Greg, was outstanding. He was very helpful in his efforts to make us comfortable, help us unload the car, manage our plans, and make suggestions. He even caught the fact that our battlefield guide had the wrong time for our visit and fixed that. He provides Four Seasons quality service.

The units are comfortable, clean, and well-cared for. There is some sign of wear, but the owners appear eager to keep replacing things. And you have to realize it's an old building with some creeking floors.

Gettysburg does not have high quality dining. I suggest Dobbins Tavern for dinner (not for lunch) and the Cashtown Inn (which is only 8 miles away). Also, it's a great idea to hire a licensed guide to take you around the battlefield. One more thing, if you like haunted attractions, try the Ghost Lab.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Inn. My husband is now spoiled. He loved the gas fireplace. The rooms were very spacious. Greg was friendly and very helpful. We had everything we needed and wanted, even some things we didn't know we needed or wanted. The choices of accommodations will fit every family needs. The location was ideal. Hisotrical building situated close to shops, gallerys and restaurants. I would recommend this place to any and all who visit the area.

We started planning about a month before our departure. New booked at The Inn at Lincoln Square and highly recommend you do the same. Location is in the middle of town with a bunch of fun shops, restaurants and history surrounding your immaculate two-level condo. Upon arrival, we found yummy muffins, fruit, teas, coffees, milk and orange juice in the comfortable kitchen. We were greeted by Greg Olson who could not have been nicer or more helpful.

We started the trip by going to the visitor center and checking out the museum, movie and cyclorama…cannot find a word superlative enough to reflect the experience we garnered from each part of the visitor center!

We set up 2 guides through Greg. We met our first guide, Jerry, at the room and he was a wealth of information about the town before, during and after the war. Amazing stories on tidbits of information you will not read or learn in any book.

We went to the Dobbin House for a "period" dinner and trip to the gift shop…amazing food and ambience...definitely worth a trip.

We had a fun breakfast in town at the French cafe before meeting our second guide, Terry, she specialized in the actual battles of Gettysburg. Again, you cannot learn what she taught us in any book or travel guide or by driving around on your own. It felt like we were able to see the ghosts of the union and confederate armies as we toured the battle fields and stood atop Little Round Top.

Final night we hit Gettysburg Eddie’s Sports Bar for some appetizers and to watch the Giants take down Green Bay. Awesome trip all around and only wish we had more time to visit some of the museums and homes that were preserved.

Room Tip: We were a family of 5 (2 A; 3 C under 12)...not all the B&B's in the area welcome children...

We spent the weekend of New Year's Eve in Gettysburg (which I highly recommend overall) and spent 2 nights at the Inn at Lincoln Square. It was amazing! The location is perfect. The room was clean, beautiful, relaxing, private, and a pure delight. Innkeeper, Greg, could not have been more wonderful and accomodating. He is knowledgable and friendly. I would return in an instant, and highly recommend this Inn to anyone visiting Gettysburg for a romantic get-away. It is worth every penny.

The Inn at Lincoln Square was fabulous. The Inn was gracefully restored to it's original condition and was like taking a step back into time. The location was like no other....right in the center of town. The inn keeper was the best. He was extremely knowledgeable of the local attractions and planned everything. I highly recommend the Inn at Lincoln Square and will definitely stay there when I visit beautiful Gettysburg again.

Room Tip: The attic suite was awsome! Highly recommended!
