“Incredibly Real”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2009

We were there to have a personal guide drive us thru the battlefield. We had 1/12 hours to kill, so bought a ticket for the Cyclorama and Museum. What a wonderful experience. First you see a very well made short movie then step up to the Cyclorama. We didn't know what to expect. It's a round beautifully painting of the battlefield. When they turn out the lights the fighting starts and the areas that are in battle light up and have smoke along with the sound. Closer to our stage area they placed real wagon wheels, boulders, etc to enhance your experience. It really feels like your overlooking the battle. This is a new addition to the center. Sorry we didn't have time to visit the museum but heard great things about it. The personal driver thru the battle field was awesome. I would stay in the area an extra day just to see everything next time. We missed walking and shopping in the downtown area. It really had alot of shops and antiques. Note: You won't be able to take flash pictures in the Cyclorama.

I would highly recommend the museum, movie and cylorama. It you go to the battlefiled be sure and by the audio tour in the gift shop. It's only $20, and well worth the money!

“breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2009

This is a must see for every age group! By reading the reviews, I didn't realize how truly awesome this painting is! The foreground they have set up in front of the painting matches up perfectly right down to the wagon ruts! The only thing that I didn't like is you couldn't hear the guides very well and they rushed you out way too soon. They turn the lights down gradually as they time goes by but since there is no flash photography, you can't take pics without people in the way before they turn the lights down too much for phots to look good.

“Freshly restored, puts you in the center of the battle”

This is a truly amazing part of Gettysburg. The history behind the Cyclorama itself is quite interesting. The Cyclorama puts you in the center of the battle. I can't recommend it enough!
