“Awesome facility”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2014

Having visited about 15 years ago, we were astounded at the changes. The new center, built in 2008 I think, is beautiful. The diorama is unbelievable and very emotional. We took the entire tour package....exhibit, diorama and bus tour...about $35 per person...but very worth it....the guides are very knowledgeable, have some great stories and point out things you would miss if you were on your own. Go early if you are really interested in the history....later in the day, lots of kids with cell phones and very little interest in the exhibit, which translates into disrespectful behavior....we saw a group playing "tag" around the exhibits...they actually ran into people..parents were clueless.

“Wonderful battlefield tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2014

As a British visitor I'm ashamed to say I knew nothing about the US civil war. We booked a tour thru the visitors centre with a personal tour guide who drove us round the battlefield. She was really knowledgable and made the whole thing come alive. The visitors centre and museum are excellent. Well worth a visit. The visitors centre is free. But there is a charge for the tour guide.

“Beautiful and a one stop shop for tours!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2014

Definitely stop here first and get all the info you need to visit the Battlefields. Or the Eisenhower Farm which is a GREAT tour!
The movie they show is a good start to your visit, but the museum itself is pretty average.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2014

A new Visitors Center was long overdue for the Gettysburg National Military Park. The designers knocked it out of the park with this new building. Great display of artifacts, a fantastic film narrated by Morgan Freeman, and a new viewing area for the Cyclorama. A great gift shop and bookstore top off an outstanding addition to visits to the Gettysburg battlefield.

“The Battle starts here”

Gettysburg Museum & Visitor Centre
Is the place to start your tour of the battle area, Gettysburg was the turning point of the American Civil War and Museum & Visitor explains and takes you through the events as they happen with the movie, and the Cyclorama. There are lots of display’s to view. Pity so many had to die .
