We took our son to Gettysburg for the first time in January, 2014. We were fortunate enough to end up with John as a personal tour guide. For $60, a tour guide will drive your car through the battlefields for 2 hours. Let them drive so you can look and get involved in what is going on around you. We stopped along the way to get out, explore, and hear riveting stories of the real soldiers that were such a big part of our history. John made our tour life like and really engaged our 11 year old. He was very knowledgeable; not only about the war, but about some of the little known names and stories that made up this historic event. I don't think our trip would have been as memorable if it had not been for John our tour guide.

the cyclorama was amazing and so cool! It was so historical and emotional. We learned a lot of awesome stuff and can't wait to go back!

This is incredible. Such an important place in history, and such an important battle.
After that long speech, a short speech pencilled on dog eared piece of paper.
There was no response.
Lincoln figured that once again
he simply tried and failed.
On the train home again depressed .
How surprised he was to find the silence was in awe and reverence rather than anything
he could conceive.
Museum teaches a whole bunch and one walks away with
so much more

Definitely worth the price of admission to the museum, film, and especially the Cyclorama. The cyclorama really brought the history to life.

The theater presentation followed by the Panoramic depiction of the battle was unusual but gave you more of a feeling of being there. I can't imagine anyone in traveling through this part of the country not stopping in to see the park and, in particular, this museum.
