We enjoyed the museum and cyclorama, but the highlight was the guided tour with our guide, Anthony. He was so knowledgeable and encouraged our questions. He made the 2 hour battlefield tour in our car one of the best historical tours we have ever taken.

If you visit this you've got to see the Cyclorama (spl?). It is just awesome. It's a painting of the battle done in the round and modern effects.

Great place to start any visit to the battlefield. You can purchase tickets to the Cyclorama, museum and guided bus tours there. Food is a bit expensive in their food court.

If you're truly looking for a museum that actually tells of the battle of Gettysburg, go somewhere else. I suggest visiting the downtown museums or touring the battlefield on your own. This monolith to Liberal Leftist politics is a disgrace to the Civil War soldiers that fought there. This museum indoctrinates the unsuspecting tourist into the progressive liberal agenda. If you are a civil war buff you will be appalled. Just watch the film and you will understand. Those of you who remember the old museum, before the Friends of Gettysburg Foundation took over, will be shocked when you enter this museum and find that hardly any of the artifacts that were in the old museum now displayed in this museum Most are in a warehouse. The museum even sold off the battlefield map. The "only" display that actually informed tourists about what had occurred in this important Civil War site. Parking is atrocious because they built the museum on wetlands. But don't worry they have close parking for "green" vehicles and not for veterans. While beautiful to look at it from the outside is one of the worst examples of a historical museum I've ever seen and I've been to many Civil War sites. This "money pit" of a museum dishonors those who fought on the battlefield!
