this was a great stop, but you need to give yourself time to take it all in. small children will probably not enjoy it as it is not a hands on history experience, but over 5 or 6 should be able to enjoy.

Upon entering the Gettysburg Museum, we thought we would be in and out of this museum in no time at all. Well, an hour and a half later, we were still entranced by all of the history packed into this building. No space was wasted. Erik L. Dorr, the museum owner and curator, has amassed a magnificent collection of authentic artifacts and pieces of history from the Civil War. WWI, WWII, Kennedy Era, and even Elvis are covered in this unique, one of a kind museum. Erik is also very knowledgeable about many aspects of history. He makes you feel welcome as soon as you enter. This place is awesome and really worth a look. There is no fee, but donations are appreciated to keep the museum open. We will definitely return on our next visit to Gettysburg. Curator and owner Erik Dorr is knowledgable and passionate about this vast collection. He spends quality time with his visitors. Artifacts are displayed up and close. It's a wonderful display for the first time visitor as well as experienced collector. We will visit time and time again!
