After I read the reviews on Trip Adviser, I convinced my husband to stop here. It was a highlight of our trip to Gettysburg. We were here on a quiet weekday morning, and had the place to ourselves for more than an hour. For a small place, it is jam-packed with AMAZING items. So many of these items would be right at home in the Smithsonian. Eric was patient enough to answer all our questions. A special treat was returning home to Boston, and finding a repeat of the "American Pickers" episode featuring the museum on that very weekend! This is a terrific stop for any American history buff. AND it's FREE (Donations accepted of course)

I was expecting yet another Civil War museum, but when I started to look around, I could not believe what I was seeing. The museum does contain a large number of very cool Civil War items, but there is so much more! For example, the thousands of items include Lincoln's wallet, locks of George and Martha Washington's hair, an ottoman found in Hitler's bunker after his suicide, an Egyptian mummy head, JFK's underpants, a couple of pairs of Elvis's sunglasses, just to name a few. It is truly an amazing collection.

I've been watching the posts on Facebook, and I made it a "must visit" when I returned to Gettysburg. A simply amazing place..so many items, covering so many topics! Don't mistake it for a museum for the War of Northern Aggression...although a lot of items are included, but the least expected, such as personal items from Hitler....to Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne. It's a great place for history lovers, to people who are interested in a great President...Kennedy....to the King of Rock...Elvis! There's plenty for everyone in a family to see. If you're in Gettysburg...take the time to stop by and see what many museums would die for!

I first saw this on the History channel a year ago and wanted to visit it when I toured Gettysburg. The first day it was closed but it was open the next day and I met the owner, he is a very nice person who opened his own home up as museum showing his personal collection from the Civil War up to the Kennedy era. Very interesting and many items are for sale. Well worth the experience and discussion with the owner.
