This is a great bar with great food. My husband and I were seated after a five minute wait (which we enjoyed at the bar). The server and bartender were helpful with our beer selections. We started with Scotch eggs which were different and delicious. My husband had a Reuben and I had fish and chips- both meals were very good. The atmosphere was lively but not too loud. The food and drink were reasonably priced.

We are Gettysburg College alums and come back often to the borough as well as the school. This is the first time we've gone to the Garryowen. It has a warm pub atmosphere. Service was fine. The Gaelic Shrimp, available after 5 p.m., is to die for--one of the best dishes I've ever had in a restaurant. The server was very knowledgeable about the many beers they have available.

It's no wonder why the G.O. (as the locals call it) is known as one of the best Irish Pubs around. the food was spot on, the beers are great. Live music while we were there which really lent to the authenticity of the place. The only thing that kept it from being a 5 was the wait. With more room and more people serviced, I'll be able to get in there more easily to enjoy the people, the food, and the staff.
