Open 7 days for lunch & dinner, The Garryowen, or "The GO" as it's know to our regulars, is as inviting as any pub found back in the old country with friendly service, a large selection of Irish whiskies, the best of Ireland's draft beers, and the perfect pour of Guinness which is complimented with a carefully picked selection of international and domestic premium beers, wines and spirits. Our kitchen prepares the most authentic Irish fare in the area from the owners' family recipes, with many ingredients imported directly from Ireland. Paired with traditional pub fare, made in house daily from scratch with local ingredients where possible. Our menu is sure to satisfy the most discerning of tastes. Enjoy your meal in our cozy dining room, by the fireplace or at the bar.The first and third Sundays of each month are a special treat for lovers of Irish music, with a traditional 'Seisun' from 2 til 5pm. Reservations are highly recommended.

Great food! We had the Ulster fry and pulled pork sandwich. Ulster fry was very traditional and perfect for a foodie looking for some unique fair. It's not a large dining area but they were able accommodate us with a 6 month old. Recommend dining with the little ones at lunch time instead of dinner time as it is indeed a pub.

Good Irish food a little on the salty side but when have the Irish been known for their food. Great Beer Tap line up and Whisky selection is over the top. I don't think you can find a deeper Irish whisky menu this side of Dublin. Only thing missing was Irish background music.

Good food, good drink and good service. What more could you ask for? Located downtown Gettysburg, two blocks off of the circle, and a central location after touring the Soldiers’ National Cemetery, the Visitor Center, the David Wills House and the train depot. A little taste of Ireland is available both through food and drink, as well as offerings for everyone’s taste. Stopping for lunch, dinner or just a drink, I’m sure you will enjoy this local Irish Pub.

My husband and I just returned from a two night trip to Gettysburg. Garryowen was our first night's meal. We found it to be an enjoyable meal in a quaint historic building.
First impressions...this place is small. I counted maybe 10 tables from two-tops to 4 tops in the room where we were seated.
My husband ordered bangers and mash and I had the shepherd's pie. We both enjoyed our meals very much. I could only eat half of mine. The bangers were on a large pile of mashed potatoes and had a nice gravy. The mashed potato topping on mine was a little crisp on the outside and nice and creamy inside. The beef and vegetables inside were well seasoned and tasty. I also watched others at their tables and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Most everyone appeared to have cleaned their plates.
Service was so-so. Adequate but a bit on the slow side.
We spent about $25-30 total and we felt that was very reasonable for the quality of food.
