“The Art of Storytelling”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

Miss Betty is a gifted story teller. She has found her niche in sharing her gift to strangers. The tour is family friendly and adult friendly. I have had the pleasure on being on two tours with the talented Miss Betty. Both times my friends and I had several creepy experiences. My one non believer friend saw a face in person (she is a believer now).Carpooling is encouraged so there aren't 20 car caravans driving down the street, can you imagine keeping track of 20 cars down Emmistburg Road? If you wish to take your own car alone, you can. I was glad we were able to meet at the school in a centralized location in Gettysburg. Unfortunately I won't be able to meet up with Miss Betty for my next trip however I do urge you to give it a chance and enjoy yourself!

“Ms. Betty Ghost Tour”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

Do not waste your time and money on this ghost tour. It was definitely was not what we expected. She talked so much that it was torture, everytime we thought she would be done with her ghost story, she will continue another one. It came to a point we didn't even know what she was talking about anymore. Then we only got a bit of time to take pictures and walk around the area. She literally talked us to death, we was ready to run out of there and just take our own pictures and walk on our own. Another thing is she didn't let us take picture until she was done talking, sure, about an hour later and then to only be able to take pictures for 5 minutes. HORRIBLE! NEVER WILL DO THIS TOUR AGAIN! WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!

“One of the best ghost tours ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

First for all those folks who posted negative reviews, I'm not sure if you went on a different tour or not but our tour was amazing. I almost didn't book it because of the few negative comments on here but obviously those folks are looking for perfection and nothing in life is like that so relax and enjoy this tour for what it is- a fun 2 hour tour of the area where one is encouraged to take photos and be made familiar with the horrible tragedies of the war.

We made a last minute reservation w/ Ms. Betty. Her tours are extremely sought after and book early so we were pretty lucky. We were also 2 of the last folks that she fit into the group and even at the start of the tour, others were calling for different nights and she was completely booked. Yes, she has a MD phone number and drives a car w/ a MD tag but who cares ? (someone commented on that like it was a neg. but that certainly doesn't mean that she must live in the area to be familiar w/ the war. Some people have nothing to 'pick on' so they REALLY nit pick)

Anyway, we met her in a very crowded parking lot and after about 15 min of figuring out the driving and who was following whom etc, we were on our way. Yes, at times you may have to drive with someone or drive some guests but that is only when the tour is super packed. We were 'filled' and there was a total of 10 cars in our group and I don't know that anyone doubled up. We followed her in a single file w/ flashers on through areas of town and then out to the Sach's bridge, where we stopped to do about a 45-60 min talk on the bridge and hear stories. She had a flashlight but if you are concerned about falling, bring your own. It is dark and yes, ghost tours are done at night.... so bring a flashlight if you wish. She asked that no one take photos during her talk (which was the ONLY down side to this tour). She also asked that cell phones be turned off. Both requests were to allow all of us to fully enjoy the tour. After a few stories, we were allowed to take photos. She explained the best way to take photos to see the orbs. It was VERY obvious that there are spirits in all of the areas of this tour. I was able to capture several orbs that were in one photo but not in the next one taken a few seconds later of the same exact area.

After being at the bridge for quite some time we all piled back in our cars and went to the Baladerry Inn where our tour concluded. She has quite a few interesting stories to tell about this home too. This was an old Civil War hospital and there are some 'remnants' of that still around. Miss Betty also gives a $5 discount to you if you are staying at one of the homes she has a link to on her site. (Taking a second to talk about her cost- we got a 2 hour tour for only $15, which is ridiculously cheap and so well worth it).. And I personally don't care if she wants cash or not.

Our tour concluded about 2 hours later. Just some suggestions- it gets very cold on the tour. Layer your clothing, wear a hat and gloves and be open to the experience. Also, take a flashlight.. IT IS dark

“Friendly and knowledgable lady with a lot of great ghost stories and evidence!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

Wasn't really sure what to expect but the trip advisor ratings were high so we thought we'd give it a try! Miss Betty's stories were very interesting and we had a chance to ride to the different locations with her and hear some added stories that were pretty awesome! I highly recommend this tour and you will def get your money's worth! A very good experience in Gettysburg! Thanks Miss Betty! -Jamie & Jillian

“Thrill ride”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

We chose Miss Betty's ghost tour because of the description on trip advisor. It was identical to what it says. This trip was terrific, we were fortunate to have a small group and fortunate to not have large tour bus of ghost thrill seekers arrive at Sach's bridge. Miss Betty is a fantastic story teller and is informative at the same time (great for history seekers as well as those interested in the supernatural). Was reluctant at first about a caravan to the sites but she was prepared for the trip. I have been on walking tours in Gettysburg before and this was by far the best. She also instructs on how to attempt to photograph the supernatural. A must do while exploring Gettysburg.
