A visit to the first national cemetery, resting place for thousands of our heroes and the scene of Licoln's Gettysburg Address, is a must if you are in the area.
Take an hour or less to walk through this hallowed ground and get a sense of the sacrifice and history that surrounds this place.

Beautiful area. I great place to go and reflect on what took place in July 1863. You look at all the grave markers and think about each of these men giving their life for what they believed in and see how many markers there on...you are awed.

This is where Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address. Plus it's worth checking out the monuments and getting a feel for what went on there.

Very moving to stand amid the graves of Union soldiers who died at gettysburg. The Confederates were repatriated after the conflict. Site of the Gettysburg Address.

This is the first national cemetery. Abraham Lincoln attended the dedication and gave his Gettysburg address. Take the time to honor the soldiers and experience the surrounding battlefield.
