Owner description: Featuring The area's only complete wax collection of American Presidents and their first ladies as well as a beautiful gift shop. The Hall of Presidents is located across the street from the Gettysburg Tour Center and next to the main entrance of the National Cemetery. It is incredible to be able to see what our Presidents really looked like and to hear the words attributed to them as if the words came from the very lips of the figures themselves. The Hall of First Ladies present authentic 1/3 size reproductions of the First Ladies in their inaugural gowns.

“A THRILLINGLY NOSTALGIC ATTRACTION FROM THE 60'S”

Thank the Lord this classic attraction is still miraculously operating. Although some complain of the museum's lengthy narration, lack of fidelity to the likenesses of the Presidents and old-fashioned low-tech presentation....that is its GREATNESS, people! It is exactly like stepping back into a 1963 attraction today and the haunting narration is primitive but electrifying and unforgettable. Along with the Wax Museum (shamefully renamed the American Civil War Museum) and the Soldiers National Museum and the Lincoln Room Museum, a triumph of nostalgia and American patriotism that
both touches and inspire those who experienced them as children and young adults. You CAN go home again and these three wonderful attractions are solid proof of that. THe kids need to put down the video games for a second and listen and experience an American landmark. For 7.50 it is a steal!

“glad we had a BOGO free coupon”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

The museum was pretty good and had a lot of interesting facts about the presidents, I enjoyed the fact that the presidents were Wax. I feel that it was a little over priced, I am glad we had a buy one get one free coupon...I am not sure that we would do this museum again since it is $7.50 per person.

“OK”

OK. Interesting facts. Place seems a bit old and in need of some updating but for the money
it is worth it. The First ladies section is weak and that is why I graded it as average.

However, for the money it is worth stopping and learning a few things.

Just a little disappointed with the displays. It does not appear that anything has been updated on the displays in quite some time.

I agree w/many of the previous posters..this museum is not worth the $7.50 admission. I think many of the wax figures looked nearly identical, also the facial and eye expressions made many of the presidents look unkind. (maybe it is just me though).. It was neat to see the change in hair styles, clothing over the years..ie from the fluffy shirts of Washington's time to the era where many presidents had beards,etc.. And for the presidents I did recognize, many were not a good resemblance. Obama's did do him justice I think. I think this museum would be better if it was more interactive- I did like the display of Lincoln sitting in a library. There is nothing for people to feel, touch, read..have some artifacts from the presidents and higher level knowledge. The background murals did look nice though. I also did not care for the first lady's room..the dolls were "small" and it bothers me that the written info conveyed info on their ball gowns. WHy not include info on what that lady did to support her spouse and/or better the nation (ie for Hilary Clinton they could have said info about her attempt w/the health care legislation or the work Laura Bush did for education). I think the first ladies have offered much to the nation but the display "reduces" them to just a pretty lady wearing a lovely gown..there are nice details about the gowns. ANd like someone said, it was fascinating to learn all the first ladies have not been the spouse of the Pres, sometimes it was a daughter in law or other significant woman..I did appreciate the hostess...I had tried to get a picture of the Abe LIncoln display and I messed up when going thru the tour, so they let me go back to try another time. Nice gift shop- though it doesn't have everything that could fall into this category of US Presidential stuff.
