“Employees discuraged people from coming close to closing time”

We showed up 30 minutes before closing and the people at the desk acted like it wouldn't be worth it to visit for a half an hour...so we were unable to visit at all because we were leaving the next day. Maybe they should charge half price 1/2 hour before closing for the express view instead of turning people away. They lost our on 4 entry fees from our family plus the 3 other people that were next to us.

The house had a lot of information about David Wills, which was kind of boring. What attracts you to this house is the fact that Lincoln wrote part of the Gettysburg address here, and the bed he slept in is still in the house! Highly recommend a visit to this home.

We wandered into this museum by accident, thinking it was another antique/curio/gift shop on the corner of the Round-About in the heart of Gettysburg. We were surprised to find out that this was the house where Abraham Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg Address. There are only two rooms in the home that are "recreated" to look as they did during the period, but they were amazing because it is the actual bed, including the actual bedspread that Abraham Lincoln used while he stayed at the Wills home. It was a small donation (I believe $6.50) per person to walk through the house and read the historic information that was fascinating and interesting. A good place to stop off while walking up and down the shop lined streets of town!

For a minimal charge we could take our time on a self-guided tour of the house in which Lincoln stayed prior to delivering his Gettysburg Address. The information about the battle, the Wills family and even the furniture from the era was well presented in multi-media; videos, miniature models, actual artifacts and letters- This is a must see while you are in town.

My first visit at the home of the you.g lawyer charged with creating a cemetery to bury the Union soldiers killed in Gettysburg. Abraham Lincoln slept there the night before the Gettysburg Address and put finishing touches on his speech there. Bedroom restored where Lincoln stayed. Video.
