Owner description: The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War, the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion", Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address".

“Awesome Battle Field !!!!!”
Reviewed January 29, 2012

We are frequent visitors and I can not get enough of the place. The history and how it has been preserved is awesome. If you are into Ghosts you have a good chance of catching some eerie pics in the evenings !!!!!! I Love It !!!!

“Take a stroll through American History”
Reviewed January 29, 2012

The Civil War battles here put this town on the map. The visitor center offers a lot, but take your own driving tour. The battle fields are where the history is located and there is a lot of ground to cover. Make some stops and get out and look around. There is not as much history like this in the United States compared to other countries, so walk around and soak it all in.

“The changes they have made add to the experience”
Reviewed January 27, 2012

The last time I was at Gettysburg was before they added the new visitors center. The new center is a huge improvement, especially the Cyclorama. The work they are doing to recreate the conditions on the battlefield is a change but a good change.
If you remember Eisenhower be sure you take the time and visit the farm. You will appreciate the times and the man.
