We had a wonderful time at this 9-room bed and breakfast in the historical part of Gettysburg. Mike, the innkeeper and his daughter, Elizabeth took very good care of us. Mike made dinner reservations for both nights and arranged a 3-hour private tour (well worth the money!)

Room: Our room was the Aster. It's on the 3rd floor of the Gaslight Inn. We think that it's the only room in the inn with a king sized bed (very comfortable.) If climbing steps are a problem for you, ask for a room on the 1st or 2nd floor.

Breakfast: Breakfast was served at a large dining room table. We had the 8:15 time slot both times. You should probably request this before arrival if you'd rather be guarenteed the earlier time.

Parking: Parking is off the alley behind the inn or across the street in a public lot. We were always able to park behind the inn.

Location: This inn is within walking distance of the whole historic part of Gettysburg.

We really enjoyed our time at The Gaslight Inn and would recommend it.

I enjoyed my stay at this B & B. The house is very pretty outside and inside and the grounds are gorgeous. There were lots of bright colorful flowers. They were very cheering when I arrived. The room was large and the bathroom was large too. At other B & B's I have stayed at the room was smaller and the bathroom was especially small. I felt that I could really spread out here. I liked having a fireplace too. It was just right for taking the chill off the evening. The ladies that cleaned my room during my stay did a great job. Overall the Inn was nice and clean. The breakfast table was pretty and the food and presentation were outstanding. I especially liked having snacks and beverages available 24/7. The Hansons were friendly and helpful in recommending things for me to do during my stay. My only request: hair dryers in the rooms please.

We had a great time touring the Gettysburg battle fields and enjoyed our accomodations at the Gaslight Inn in downtown Gettysburg. The inn was beautiful and convenient, the room very comfortable. Food was outstanding and the innkeeper very helpful in arranging personal tour guides. We would absolutely stay at the Gaslight Inn again and recommend it to our family and friends.

The Gaslight In is an attractive house with a pretty yard and gardens. It was clean and well-run in many ways, but we wouldn't recommend it. Co-owner Becky seemed so much more interested in making money than in hospitality that it ruined the experience. Her unfriendliness and inflexibility were surprising in such a nice place. Everything seemed geared toward pinching pennies, making it easy on the owners and protecting the property from untrustworthy guests. For example, they have hairdryers, but they're not in the room (who wants to get dressed and go down 2 flights of stairs with wet hair to see if they have one?) 2 of the 3 of us got sick after eating what we could of the breakfast. No choices for breakfast, although several at our seating (be there at 8:30 SHARP or else....) clearly didn't care for poached eggs. Parking is inadequate. Cookies were stale. Co-owner Mike was very friendly, but that couldn't compensate for the overall disappointing experience. Not what we expected for a property in this $ category.

Stayed two nites here and recommend it highly. The rooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean. The inn had great sitting areas and breakfast was delicious. The steam shower was a treat. Once the street traffic quieted down. A little busy thru 7pm. Unbelievable quiet set in. Close to shops and restaurants and battlefields. Walk to just about everything. The staff was so helpful. Making reservations and setting up tours. Just Delightful. The only negative which was not for us, is the dogs, if you do not like dogs then stay somewhere else. They were tiny dogs and loved being friendly. We will be back to stay here again.

My fiance and I enjoyed our stay at the Gaslight Inn. We were happy to discover we could walk to many different parts of the town due to the inn being in such a great location. In addition, the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we felt we made a good choice when we booked ouor room there.

We just returned from a three night stay at the Gaslight Inn in Gettysburg. We stayed in the Aster room. I felt a need to respond to the negative reviews about the Inn on this site. The Inn keepers Mike and Becky Hanson were wonderful and the breakfasts were very good. As far as the Aster room we were more than pleased. The bed must have been changed from the earlier post as it was a true king sized bed and extremely comfortable. As far as the steam bath all one has to do is touch the button in the shower to make it operate. The Inn is conveniently located 1 1/2 blocks from the center of town and we felt safe walking around the area even at night. I would recommend the Gaslight Inn without reservation.
