“Very relaxing”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

My daughter and I stayed at the Gaslight Inn and had a very relaxing stay. The rooms were comfortable, clean and elegant. The Inn was not on the main road so it was very quiet at night. One thing that was very helpful was having a menu at the Inn for all the restaurants in town. There were also many information brochures for activities. One suggestion when staying at the Inn would be to check on the menu for breakfast and speak up if you have dietary needs. I thought the meal would be served family style and I would be able to choose my meal but was served instead. The meal was lovely and sophisticated but not to my taste. My fault for assuming without checking. Overall, a great place to stay.

We stayed at the Gaslight Inn on a last minute planned trip to Gettysburg and were very happy with our choice. The location is perfect to get downtown with a simple walk and is very close to all of the attractions. The Inn is immaculately kept, including the landscaping. Breakfast was superb and creative. The rooms are spacious and accomodating. We stayed in the Clover Room on the back of the house and it had access to the back porch. Becky and Mike helped us with restaurant suggestions and local attractions. Every night there were delicious cookies baked and plenty of refreshments in the frig. We highly recommend staying here and we'll be visiting again before too long!

Room Tip: Rooms on the back are quiet. Check the description for tub vs. shower if you prefer one or the other...

We loved our stay at the gas light inn. We will recomend it to everyone we speak to. We noticed our first day there that the fridge was not stocked with any soda I could drink (I can't have any caffeine or artificial sweeteners). We mentioned it to Becky the inn keeper. Later that day when we came back from exploring the town there was caffeine free non diet soda stocked. There were always fresh delicious cookies to snack on and the rooms were all beautiful. Breakfast was amazing. The plates looked so delicate that I never thought they would be enough to fill me but I was always perfectly full at the end of breakfast. And the food itself was creative and delicious. The inn was within walking distance of almost everything. We only needed our car twice. 1 time for a guided tour of the battle field -highly recomend it and purchase the package from the inn. And the second time to go to the cyclorama. To get to balttimore ave you literally walk 2 minutes down the street and your in the middle of everything. Loved our stay and hope to go back!

We resently spent two nights at the Gaslight Inn. The Inn is modern, clean, and inviting. In addition it is within walking distance to most restraurants and many activities. We would stay there again.

We stayed at the Gaslight Inn and had a really marvelous time. The breakfasts kept us full till afternoon time! Returning in the evening was relaxing - to sit on the porch or deck & listen to the
quiet was very nice. All this only a couple of blocks from town. We walked to the town one day - and was very glad the distance was short for our return in the evening! :) Becky made reservations with a tour guide for us, and he was great, as well. The rooms are clean & neat. It is good to know that after traveling more than 8 hours to get somewhere, that your choices were very good.

Room Tip: there isn't a fridge in the rooms, so if something needs refrigeration, let Becky know.

We stayed at the Gaslight Inn, in Gettysburg,PA and it was wonderful. It is a lovely, historic inn with all of the amenities one would hope for. The decor is lovely, with home-baked cookies, coffee, tea and soda for whenever desired. The room was well-appoiinted, quiet and comfortable. The home-made breakfast was incredible, and the service was impeccable. We highly recommend this establishment.

The Gaslight is a nice b & b conveniently located close to attractions, restaurants, etc. in Gettysburg. We stayed 4 nights and were able to walk from the b & b to several restaurants. Lincoln Square is also right down the street as well as several shops, ghost tours, etc.
The grounds of the b & b are beautiful and guests can enjoy the backyard or sit on the porches in the back or on the side of the house. Parking is on the property with easy access through the backyard.
We loved our room, the Aster. It is located on the 3rd floor in the rear of the house and there is a slider to the back porch. The room was very large with an in-suite bathroom. The room was comfortable for sitting with both chairs and a love seat. The only complaint I have is that it was almost impossible to access the wireless Internet in the room. I could access it from a sitting area on the 2nd floor or on the first floor, just not in our room.
Breakfast is served at a designated time each morning, so all guests eat together. This was nice because we got to share experiences.

Room Tip: Inquire about what rooms have best Internet access if this is something you will need.
