We stayed in the Lee Suite. It is charming! You get a private entrance and a private little porch! The location is perfect for walking to shops and exploring the battlefield. The suite has a sitting room with a daybed, tv, desk, rocking chair and mini fridge(stocked with a few snacks and wine glasses). The beroom is seperated from the sitting room with a door that locks if needed. Both rooms have their own A/C unit. I(a large woman) used the the daybed and slept very well. We spent a few hours each evening on the front porch swing. You really get to enjoy the charm of the town from the porches of this Inn! The rooms have their own parking spots(in the Dobbin House lot) clearly labeled. The rates are REALLY good for what you get. We have stayed in many of the hotels and B&Bs in the area. This was by far our favorite place. We will stay at the Gettystown Inn everytime we visit Gettysburg!

Room Tip: Plan a romantic dinner at the Dobbin House!

So charming and magical. The rooms are so homey and adolrable. Stayed in the Stuart room, and the Reynold's room, and I am coming back for the Lincoln suite in Oct/ 2012. I stay here because I love the Springhouse Tavern, (connected to this property.) No trip to Gettysburg is complete without it! The prices are great for this place. Ive stayed at the Farnsworth inn, and the Inn of 1863 across the street, and I love/prefer this place. They give you the best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel, even 4 star ones that are more expensive. You must try the coffee. Ive been to Gettysburg many times, and I come back pretty much for this hotel, and the french onion soup and punch in the tavern. Tip; you check in at the gift shop. look up the room pics online, as they are all historical and different, and pick your favorite! I always look back on my stay here fondly...This is a very special and unique place

Room Tip: Stuart room and Reynold's are both nifty.

We have stayed at a few bed and breakfasts in Gettysburg and this one was sadly not one of my favorites, though it did have some good points. The room (Reynolds room) was small, but comfortable and they did have a cot ready for us since we traveled with our child. The location was great; within walking distance of just about everything. The staff was very nice and personable. The breakfast in the am was good. It consisted of cheesy eggs, spiced potatoes, ham and their delicious, fresh baked breads and the atmosphere was very nice since it was located in the Dobbin House dining area. As for the negative aspects, the room was in dire need of repair. There was peeling wallpaper, cracks in the ceiling, a dent in the wall from the doorknob which could have been avoided by a doorstop. The blankets that were provided for the cot had various holes and stains on it. In general, it seemed the room was not maintained as well as would be expected.

Gettystown B&B was very nice and privet it was more like staying in a bungalow since every most rooms have their own street exit and living area.
It was clean and the food was great! I enjoyed my stay very much and their was a lot to do with in walking distance.

No place has ever served a better breakfast. We stayed 3 nights, every breakfast was unique and different. The servers are caring and gracious. We felt special.
We stayed in the Steinwehr Suite. The bathroom is about as large as the bedroom, maybe larger. Our bed was comfortable. The room was a bit cramped, but we did fine. There was a large dresser so we didn't need to live out of our suit cases. A small writing table with chair next to the window came in handy. A cupboard in the bathroom to hang up our clothes, plus a very nice vanity with mirror and chair, small refrigerator, and large stand up mirror. Small flat screen tv in the bedroom. No internet.

Down stairs is a large living room common area for watching tv or visiting. The front porch offers rockers and a porch swing which was great for sitting in the evening to people watch and listen to crickets.

Room Tip: Our rooms was upstairs, but if you don't want to climb stairs, ask for a bottom floor room.

We choose to stay in "Lee" whenever possible as we like the layout of this best. Accommodations include a very firm queen sized bed, and a daybed in the sitting room area, which also includes a small color tv. Separate entrance makes the unit feel more individualized and less a part of the inn. Has small porch also, and recently added a personalized parking space marked "Lee" in front of the unit. Can also use common area (tv, coffee maker) within the inn, but own room is more private with own entrance. One slight drawback this time around was owners could only find one key to room. Did not make that much of a difference to use personally. Breakfast is served from 8:30-9:30 in the Springhouse Tavern, just a short walk across the parking lot.

Breakfast often includes fruit, OJ, muffins, zucchini (or banana) bread, coffee and other breakfast fare. The two mornings we were there: breakfast strata (not a fan of that one), and a more delicious biscuits and gravy combo. Often have scrambled eggs, waffles, bacon, ham, etc. Breakfast is usually quite good and they are accommodating about special requests.

We are already booked for next year!

Room Tip: Lee or Meade are our favorites.

This is the perfect place to stay in Gettysburg! Our party consisted of three couples. We had the Steinwehr, Stuart and Reynolds rooms. All three were charmingly decorated, immaculately clean, and comfortable. All of the rooms are decorated in period decor, with much attention to detail. The staff was fantastic: friendly and helpful. The location is great....right in the middle of shops and restaurants, a very very short walk to the historic district, and just a few minutes drive to the Gettysburg Military Park Visitor Center. The front porch is a terrific way to end your day in Gettysburg...the six of us relived the day while "people watching." When we arrived, it appeared some of the porch seating had been moved, and there was only seating for four of us. We brought this to the attention of the staff, and were provided with more seats by the time we got up the next morning. One evening we had a bad thunderstorm....so we all got together in the sitting room...with the free coffee provided. Breakfast is served in the historic Dobbins House next door. There is a separate breakfast room for inn guests. This room was the parlor of the Dobbins House in 1863 and is decorated beautifully. Breakfast was very good all three days we were there. The linens were nice, the beds were comfortable. Although the inn is decorated in 1860 decor, the bathroom is modern, and the television is new with lots of channels. I would have to say none of the six of us could find one fault with this place...even the price is reasonable. I do not know how you could go wrong here.
