Even if you know nothing about Thomas Edison or his work, this is a fantastic site! It's the actual laboratory where he and his team created all kinds of amazing wonders of the industrial age, and the machine shops are in pristine condition - - you can imagine them being turned on today and running just as they did a century ago. And the ultimate prize: his library and working study. It is stunning... thousands of books in two stories of beautiful library shelves, and his desk, which was was left exactly as it was when he last worked in the shop! It is a fascinating walk through American history and our industrial innovation; well worthwhile, and a great place for the whole family.
