Nan Zhou is a staple in Philly's Chinatown and for good reason. The noodles are the star here and they either come in various kinds of soup or in various kinds of stir fries. For those that don't know, hand drawn noodles are like spaghetti and are made in the traditional Chinese method of beating and stretching the dough. The other option, also available at Nan Zhou are knife shaved noodles, made exactly as they sound, by shaving the noodles off of a single piece of dough into the boiling stock. You won't be disappointed with either choice. They also offer several appetizers including very good chicken curry dumplings. All meals are served with fragrant jasmine tea, and the restaurant is BYOB. Service is very good and prices are reasonable with most entrees under $10. I highly recommend this restaurant out of the many choices in Chinatown.

Great place for fresh noodles with broth. Also had the turnips which were crunchy, a little spicy and very good.

8 People $70, can't beat that for good filling food.

Great seafood noodle soup, $7.50! Had to wait 5-10 minutes (Sunday) but well worth it. We'll be back soon.

Went here with some friends because of all the terrific reviews i saw online. We all got different noodle soups and we all said the same thing, the noodles were delicious but the meat was tough, grisly and borderline disgusting. It was greasy and the broth had very little flavor. Would not come back here with all the other great places in chinatown.

A local recommended this place to me. It was a bit of a walk from where I was staying and I almost walked by it, but glad I made the trip.

Authentic, hand made noodles; very spicy. Note that medium spice here is more spicy than the average "Americanized" Chinese restaurant.

I had a great noodle bowl with jumbo shrimp. They also make very good fried pot stickers.

You can get a noodle bowl with many choices: beef briskey, ox rib, ox tail, etc.

Reasonably priced...but they only take cash!

No ambience whatsoever and the place can probably only seat 25 people at any given time...but that's part of the charm.

I will head back over there when I'm in the area again.
