Ida Mae's can be found in the Philadelphia neighborhood of Fishtown. It's well off the usual tourist's route and we found it only because of a newspaper review we found by chance. Apparently, the neighborhood is "up and coming" and "Philadelphia's answer to Greenwich Village". That's too much exaggeration for my taste, but who cares? This is a great place for breakfast and brunch and it's well worth searching for. Try the Irish breakfast - sausages, rashers, egg, white pudding - or the soda farl. It's not quite the real thing, but it's as close as you're going to get. Lovely service, good prices, and a nice neighborhood welcome.
