We are an Italian family on college tour and we wanted to try this place even though we avoid Italian restaurants abroad. Unfortunately we got a confirmation that is not easy to find an authentic Italian place abroad. I took the "tagliatelle bolognese" and they were ok, but not really good. The sauce was too strong and it was more quantity that quality. My daughter took a pizza Margherita, which had terrible mozzarella cheese, so she had to take it out. The salad and sandwich of my wife and other daughter were fine. Service was friendly and kind, but the quality below the standard real Italian average.

Food was great. We stuck with starters and savored each morsel of food. Delish. Waitress was an airhead and messed stuff up, simple stuff like no napkins or silverware with dessert...but over all a great spot.

We have dined at LaScala's several times and are always pleased with our meals, service and pricing. Our most recent visit was no exception. We were greeted promptly and seated. Our waiter arrived shortly and provided friendly and professional service. The meals and drinks arrived in just the right amount of time - no rush but no delays. Perfect.
The food itself has always been spot-on - very tasty and well presented. We have never had anything but GREAT FOOD.
The manager stopped by once to see if we were OK. Our bill was very reasonable - especially for a big city. We will return.

I have eaten here several times when going to the Walnut St. Theater. The food and specials are very good and well prepared. We enjoy the baked eggplant appetizer and all of the pastas are excellent. We indulged on our last visit and shared passion fruit cheesecake for dessert - it was very good and the plate was beautifully decorated with fresh fruit. There is an assortment of reasonable house wines. Parking is free behind the restaurant off 7th. There is also $6 after 4PM parking farther up 7th toward Market if that lot is full. Service was prompt and friendly and attentive enough. I hate being asked too often if everything is okay.
