“A Great Jazz Venue and Very Affordable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2014

My wife and I recently visited La Rose Jazz Café in the Germantown Section of Philadelphia 1 block from Germantown Friends School at 5531 Germantown Ave. We went on a Sunday and it was open mike night from 6pm to 10pm, meaning anyone can sit in and play with the band. The session was hosted By Rob H. Henderson, who also has a CD called the H factor on sale through Amazon.com Well there were people there from all walks of life and all races, we felt very comfortable and at ease. The band played for 4 hours, we even saw a 7 year old boy playing the drums with the band on one particular tune. Dinner is served for $10.00 and the admission is $5.00, drinks averaged around $6.00 very reasonable. Every Monday the very popular Tony Williams Quartet will be playing. This is a great little hide a way Venue, that in my opinion is also a great value for the money, intimate and cozy with no drama. Check it Out !
