We were at Estia last night, 12-20-13. We were promptly greeted and seated in a charming alcove, complete with comfy cushions and drapery. We chose the Theater menu because we were on our way to the Kimmel Center. The appetizers, from a pita dipping selection to a beautiful salad were excellent. Our lamb for the main course was so tender and succulent! My husband's eggplant was acceptable but a little tough around the outside. The traditional honey cake was moist and delightful. The only drawback to the dining experience was that our waiter, excellent in his advise and knowledge of his menu, seemed to be overwhelmed. Service was a little relaxed for us because we had to get to a show. We will return when we have more time. I can't wait to try some other dishes.

We ate at Estia on a Friday night. The place has beautiful earth tone colors of stone and wood; you feel like you are outside the US.
The service was outstanding with our server explaining the menu and specials.
We ordered oysters, which were very good. They have an outstanding Arugula salad.
I had halibut, which was fresh and seasoned mildly - fish had great texture and flavor.
They do have about 8 fish, where they serve table side as the whole fish. Next time I will try the Dover Sole.
We will go back to Estia.

An absolutely amazing dinning experience with a wonderful atmosphere, fine dinning and a fine wine selection! The wide variety of appetizers and wonderful selections of seafoods, meats and meal accompaniments will please the most discriminating dinning tastes. They cater to those who want fine dinning at a leisurely pace and those Philadelphia theater-goers. Multiple attentive wait staff attend to your dining pleasures while not being intrusive. We'll make it a point to return again and again because our extremely positive experiences.

Five of us had a memorable dinner at Estia last week. An eye-pleasing interior, and noise level was low enough for good conversation. Our server was very helpful in accommodating some of our requests to tweak our menu items. The Chilean sea bass was equal to the best I have had to date. They managed to find outstandingly ripe tomatoes for our salads, and there was a good selection of wines by the glass, with some of the Greek choices much appreciated. Save room for the dessert -- nice choices, including fresh sorbets with unusual flavors (kiwifruit included). I have eaten here approximately six times over the last nine years, and they have maintained their high quality. Perhaps because its central location, and seafood emphasis, it is somewhat more expensive than other greek restaurants, but you can be assured of the freshest food and attentive service.

The food and servers are "old school" Greek and the atmosphere is buzzing and exciting. The quality of the food and drinks are first-rate. Live musician on Friday night added to the great ambiance.
