“Fabulous Performance of "A Little Night Music"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

We saw this performance on Father's Day. We had never seen this Sundheim jewel and were looking forward to the performance. The theater has comfortable seating and the view is really very good from every seat. All our expectations were exceeded. The performance is absolutely wonderful. The cast of seasoned and new young talent is excellent. The music I have know for years was beautifully sung and now some of those songs I have loved make more sense to me.
If you have not seen this production rush to see it in the final performances. If you miss it you will have missed one of the very best productions in Philadelphia this season! Go , go go!

“A Raisin in The Sun at the Arden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

Small, intimate theatre; not really a bad seat in the house. Good acoustics. Clean modern bathrooms. Parking can can be a challenge if you don't want to do the parking lot. Weekends are easier to park. Really enjoyed the show. My first at the Arden...will definitely return!

Very creative spin on an old play. Something for everyone. Everyone was laughing from toddlers to adults.

“A Little Night Music”

A delightful and witty musical. This a revival of the 1972 Steven Sondheim plat which won numerous Tonys. The theater is a nice size and all seats appeared to have good views of the stage. Well acted and a simple, but very nice set. Glad we saw it!

“A Philadelphia tradition of excellence and community outreach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

Just saw Little Night Music at the Arden. This was a romantic musical comedy and refreshing break from the serious content of the other shows, which, although outstanding in every respect, dealt with the more lugubrious aspects of human nature. A Little Night Music counted with some of the best, award-winning actors in the Northeast US.

The Arden Theatre is located in the midst of the most historical area in the US, across the street from Christ Church, two blocks from Elfreth's Alley, and nestled among 350-year old buildings that have been restored and renewed. The Arden has been instrumental in the transformation of Old City from an industrial area to one of the youngest, most effervescent, artsy and affluent residential areas in Philadelphia. As well, the Arden is also expanding in its commitment to the community, building a satellite building three doors away that include rehearsal space, instructional stages and classrooms, and enhanced infrastructure.

A particularly notable part of the Arden's commitment to the arts in Philadelphia is its hosting underserved community high school students. With a rising endowment and a nearly sold-out clientele, the theatre serves the arts community in the city by expanding the thirst and knowledge of the arts.
