“Unexpected discovery”
Reviewed October 29, 2013 via mobile

Walking through the neighborhood, this unexpected memorial is tucked inside a small park. It is an almost smaller version-- similar to-/ the Vietnsm Vets memorial in Washington d.c. A very calm and serene location to contemplate each infividual's ultimate sacrifice. Walking farther, there are poignant memorials to the Irish and Scottish immigrants, as well as a marker commemorating the now-gone Tun Tavern, site of the "founding" of the US Marine Corps

“Tucked away”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

I don't think this or the Korean memorial are publicised enough.

Only came across them when walking up from south street.

If I had planned for this visit, I would have brought water and been able to stay longer, but the heat of the day meant I had to curtail the visit.

“unexpected gem”
Reviewed March 28, 2012

I was walking toward the river in my typical wondering manner and stumbled upon this memorial. My uncle fought in Vietnam and I am a veteran myself. Quite touching. Nice surprise.
