This place is old and a little hard to find. French onion soup was superb. Shepherd's pie was not very good but crab cakes were gr8. Worth the visit just for the history and the beer menu. Eat the crab cakes and soup. Stay away from the shepards pie.

The place is actually on Drury Street off of 13th. Food is awesome and plentiful. Cold beer and cold air great after a day of walking.

A must in Philly Bar scene, a little hidden but great find! Always have fun here and prices aren't that bad.

As a younger man, I probably would have enjoyed this bar more. Friends recommended it. The beer selection was good, the food was good but it was loud. Don' get me wrong it is what it is supposed to be a good joyous bar. Not a place for intimate conversation. Since it is what it is supposed to be I rated it very good.

well 7.30 on a friday evening was not going to be quiet hour.. the music and general craic was well up on the decibel quotient, but the beer menu was commodious, best of the bunch being the Philly brewery's Pale Ale, a wonderful drop. They rather quaintly claim to serve their beers in pints, don't be fooled, these are not the pint measures that past muster in an English boozer, but, hey! quality over quantity as my grandma used to say. The food is unexceptionable but arrives very fast, service is generally excellent.
