“outdoor market”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Nice outdoor market when in Philly. I do like Reading Terminal more, but this has more of an eclectic feel to it which is also pretty cool. My favorite stop here was Paesano's which is a must visit for sure!

“Good Stroll”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

This is a good place to stroll through. The food smells so good and it gives you a sense of being in Italy. I did not buy anything but it was a good experience.

“Nice place to walk around”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Nice walking around, nice meat shops, cheese shops, Geno's and Pat's steak sandwiches are there, South Philly Bar also nice. Lots of produce to pick from, different prices so check each one out first.

“Grown vey scruffy over the years and more ethnically diverse”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Most Philadelphians, and certainly those living nearby, call it 9th Street Market as it's evolved from predominantly Italian to now including Vietnamese, Mexican, and other ethnic vendors. There are treasures among the mostly scruffy, downscale offerings. Most of this snaps shut by 6pm, so it's a daytime place to buy produce, meats, fresh pasta, spices, or eat at authentic Mexican or Italian restaurants. Great new Gluten Free bakery there now, as well -- Teffen.

“"It is like shopping in the 1930 and 1940's"!”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

The smells and sights of the Market are legendary! Wagons stuffed with produce and fish stores! Just walk around and enjoy being there. Of course try to sample as many products as possible.
