We stopped in for a late night snack. The Arugala salad we great and the eggplant pizza was tasty. The pizza, though, was a bit soft in the crust. There are large community tables which makes the place great to meet new friends or accommodate large parties, but lacking in any intimacy. We opted to sit at the kitchen bar and enjoy the pizza fabrication take place. We had a great meal/ snack and enjoyed.

Pizzeria Vetri is a great place to experience a Vetri restaurant without spending a whole paycheck (or most of it).
They've got classics like the margarita and then a lot of creative pies.
How can you pass up Nutella pizza or pizza topped with prosciutto or the special slice of the day - vidalia, pancetta and a nice runny egg?
The beer list isn't bad either and they have wine on tap - and all the glassware to go with it.
You can sit and watch them make pies, then walk over to the museums.

This is not the most wonderful pizza we have ever tasted, but they do a very good job. Itr is well balanced, with not to much topping to make it soggy, and the crust is nicely charred. We had three individual pizzas: Margarita, Renato and Salciccia. Three individuals, along with a wood oven Salad were more than enough for three people. Wine by the carafe is expensive at $27.00 per 500ml. Weird that you can't order the slice of the day as a whole pie...

I had to stop in to try the pizza by the "critically acclaimed chef & restaurateur" Marc Vetri. I was hesitant to buy a whole pizza, so I only bought a slice. The slices are limited to the slice of the day - you don't get to choose the kind that you want. On the day that I was there, the slice of the day was topped with smoked mozzarella, gorgonzola cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. I didn't have high expectations because of the topping, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The crust, however, was thicker than I would have liked it to be. The slice was pricey at close to $7.00, but it it was big and could be split between two people. The full size pizzas don't have traditional toppings such as pepperoni, but are more geared to being billed as gourmet pizzas with unique toppings and combinations.

The restaurant itself is small. There is a large communal table, some stools near the front and stool seating near the brick oven. They only sell beer and soft drinks for beverages, but I did see an application for a liquor license in the window, so I guess that will be in effect shortly..

A plus here was the service: friendly and pleasant.

Don't waste your money here. I ordered two personal cheese pizza's and a prosciutto salad....and the total was $45!!!! The pizza's were just OK, and the salad did not come with lettuce, or real prosciutto, it tasted like some low quality ham.

I lived in Philly for 6 years, and there are much better pizza places.
