A hilarious conceit, if you think about it, but this is a quaint, elegant, and romantic little place that is an outstanding value, as well as being really cool and cozy. The courtyard outside is beautiful. About the only tiny deficits are that the rooms are a little small, and since it is near a freeway and subway line, there might be some noise. I didn't notice because I was in love with this hotel.

This trip was part medical destination and part get-away. Recovering from surgery was never so decadent. The grounds surrounding house were magnificent! Our suite was lovely and well-organized, beds very comfortable. The on-site Restaurant "M" adjacent to the main house, had spectacular, healthy, and eye-catching offerings. Some of the best seasonal recipes prepared by Chef Kyle Beebe!! All in all, it was a trip to be remembered!

Room Tip: We thoroughly enjoyed the first floor suite in the Carriage House!

Although the Morris House is a little pricier than I normally pay, I didn't want to stay at a chain while in Philadelphia. I am so glad I made that decision.

The Morris House is a beautifully maintained historic building with excellent service. We had a room on the third floor which was a bit of a climb, but well worth it. Due to the building's historic nature there is not an elevator which might be an issue for some people.

My only disappointment is that the restaurant is not open on Mondays which is when we were there. The courtyard is beautiful however just for relaxing.

Room Tip: If stairs are a problem, choose a room on a lower floor. There is not an elevator.

If you are going to stay in Philadelphia and you want to be in a lovely old house with delightful attention to comfort and style then this is the place for you. Top quality restaurant and very helpful staff. The added bonus is its central location for the historic sites. We would most certainly stay here again.

We stayed at Morris for two nights during the Fourth of July week, which was an amazing time to be in Philadelphia. The Morris is a delight. The outdoor courtyard is truly lovely and quiet, the staff is extremely helpful, and the afternoon cookies are delish. The hotel's decor is very much in keeping with the spirit of old Philadelphia. Reading Terminal is a short walk away, as is the Independence Mall area. I would definitely come again!

My wife and I recently stayed here and had a great experience. All the staff were very friendly and gave us great suggestions for things to do/see. Considering the rich history associated with Philadelphia, it was a great place to stay for an authentic old world feel, with all the modern conveniences and a delicious continental breakfast included. Would definitely recommend to others.

Being history buffs, my wife and I stayed here over a long weekend and we loved it. It was clean, comfortable and cozy. The location within a block or so to Independence Park is perfect. The breakfast and 3 pm cookies were just what the doctor ordered. :-). Highly recommend!!
