Having just returned from Phili, Reading Terminal Market was somewhere I fancied visiting.

We arrived on a Thursday in time for a late lunch.

We walked round, looking and smelling all the different tastes and flavours.

Eventually we chose a Cajun stall. We selected Cajun Cafe for a couple of reasons. It smelt amazing, they were offering out samples of their offerings. Alligator Gumbo, outstanding. That was enough to entice us in.

I had the Gator Gumbo, excellent. The lads I was with had the train wreck, a sandwich famous at the market. Beef, gator andouille sausage, salami and onions with a Cajun Mayo. That was exactly as described. Spicy, messy and too much for one person.

Everything again the Reading Terminal is well priced and there's so much choice, fresh seafood, great cheese steaks, stalls selling great jerky, stalls selling spice variety, preserves, chutneys.

Just a very decent and enjoyable experience, at a pretty cheap price.

Stopped here on trip back from Hershey for lunch. Had to have the Cheesesteak after seeing the long line. Had traditional with green peppers and fried onions. Excellent..

This market has it all from eating to buying ,if you don't see what you like then you can not get it. I did come to this market just to eat, I came here every summer to get my fresh seafood, meats, produce , an vegetables, they have all kinds of vendors an tables with great things to buy. If your in Philly you must stop in I did an I always go home with a fresh bread ,or a Philly cheese steak.

If you like to cook or like to eat or like to people watch or have a drink this is one of the most amazing places to do it! This busty market has it all. I swear there were 27 different varieties of bacon available from one vendor! You will never find a more amazing variety of ingredients or offerings of cuisine in one place. Simply fantastic.

If you travel to Philadelphia, the Reading Terminal Market is one venue you don't want to miss. RTM is many things, a place to buy fresh meats, seafood and vegetables right from the producers, a collection of different ethnic food stands, and a few sit-down restaurants all of them unique. There are always crowds of people here so navigating your way around the market can take some time. If you're in a rush the best thing to do is get your food to go and find a bench somewhere and eat your food on the go. The regional rail, Septa has a stop right below the market. If you plan on attending an event at the Convention Center, such as the Dog or Flower show, the RTM makes a good place for a lunch or dinner break. If you've ever seen the movie "National Treasure" you'll recognize the market from one of the on-foot chase scenes in the movie.
