Stayed in this Homewood Suites for a trip to Philly: me, my wife, and our 2-year old daughter, in late May 2012. I made a mistake when booking the room by not noticing that the suites are really mostly 1-room suites throughout the whole hotel, with only a handful of true 1-bedroom suites. We were really hoping for the 1-bedroom so our daughter could nap. Called the hotel a number of times in the week before to check to see if an upgrade was available, no dice. Sigh. However! When we arrived, our first pleasant surprise of the week - an upgrade to a one-bedroom suite. This made all the difference for our stay.

Our room was room 902. Any of the *02 rooms on the higher floors have a fantastic view of the city, especially at night.

Everything about the stay was great. The breakfast was top-notch. The service was amazing; the folks who work there are actually genuinely nice. Every employee we encountered was gracious and accommodating.

The pool is shared with the Hilton next door and is a typical hotel pool size, not too big, but big enough to swim in for our daughter. The pool is in the same hallway as the banquet rooms of the Hilton, and some poorly behaved children opened the door and threw apples in the pool during their banquet, the staff were on top of it though.

Our one-bedroom suite had a full size fridge, nice bar area to eat at, a flatscreen in the main room plus another in the bedroom that also had a DVD player. The room was larger than similar one-bedroom suites at other hotels we've stayed at; it was nice to have the extra room.

Can't go wrong with this Homewood Suites. Seems like their rates are very competitive in general; you get a lot for the money.

The only major downside of the hotel is the parking, since you have to park across the street. Not all that bad. Also, the hotel Internet is almost unusably slow, wired or wireless, and our Verizon phones worked very poorly in the hotel, despite being on the 9th floor. (Not the hotel's fault of course.)

The hotel is convenient to major roads, a good location, there's a Target within walking distance, and a grocery store, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks further down the road.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views. Rooms ending in 02 have a panorama view. Watch the room type when you book; the default room is a one-room suite, not a true one-bedroom suite.

This hotel was close to the race site, had a reasonable price (I think it was cheaper than others in the area) but had a FULL kitchen in the room and a pull out couch for extra guest.
I was in heaven with tons of room to build my bike in the "living room" and had a kitchen to eat my regular pre-race meals. Target was with in walking distance so getting food wasn't a problem.
The staff was really helpful and friendly too! Asked how I did in the race and let me check out an hour late because it took forever for the awards ceremony to finish!

A business trip this week convinced me that the reviews on Trip Advisor were spot on! I encountered the highest level of friendliness and service from Toni and Vanessa at the front desk...including much appreciated assistance in securing me a room for my next trip this coming week! If every Homewood Suite is half as warm and accommodating as this one is...why would anyone ever stay anywhere else?
convenient to major roads, clear and comfortable rooms, amenities galore... Plus breakfast and dinner? business travelers' nirvana!

We stayed one night and had no major complaints. Our room was clean and comfortable, on a high floor as we had requested. We enjoyed a glorious view of downtown in the distance. Free parking was available down the hill a bit and across the street on a surface lot. The included breakfast was standard fare for this type of property. The front desk staff was as friendly as we have ever experienced anywhere.

I was staying here on business for 5 days. Let me say this - stay here if you are looking for a place that is comfortable, affordable and has fantastic people. Everytime a person walked in the door in the evening they are greeted by a "welcome home", which was a bit surprising the first time, but then you realize that the people here really mean it! Of particular note was Vanessa, who was on the front desk. Fantastic - found restaurants, sugggested things we should see, provided a great suggestion for a running route...basically everything you could imagine was done with a great smile and a genuine delight to be helping people. Honestly, if I was running a hotel, I would video her for a day and show this to new employees for training - amazing.

As far as the hotel goes, it is very comfortable, you have access to the gym at the Hilton next door, it is close to the river and some very nice trails that run along there. You are about 10 min by cab to downtown, which can go out to 20+ when the traffic is busy. I will be back and bringing the family later this summer!
