Description: Marathon has served the neighborhoods of Philadelphia for over 25 years as a family-run restaurant group. We serve well-made American classics, and strive to source the freshest food locally available to us, including from our own Marathon Farm in Brewerytown, Philadelphia. Our favorite farm to table items include our grass-fed Cheesesteak, free-range Turkey Plate, and fluffy Omelets made with cage-free eggs.

“Good place for casual dinner”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

The food from this restaurant is locally produced to help the community around Philadelphia (and reduce transportation costs). It also tasted good. The waiters do not seem to be that well organized (forgot to bring one of our drinks) and generally seem to walk around randomly. Several tables around us were families with children, which gives the place a casual rather than formal atmosphere.

“Family Friendly restaurant with reasonable prices”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We ate at Marathon with 2 families of 4. Great selection for everyone and their drink menu was a hit with the adults!

“Nice meal, easy-going atmosphere”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

Although we were able to make same-day reservations earlier, the restaurant was pretty busy during our whole time there. We had a casual group of mixed ages and everyone found something - salad, burger, chicken parm entree; and everyone was pleased with their selection. Prices were reasonable and the server was very nice and helpful.

“Delicious Breakfast”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Right around the corner from the Kimpton hotel, is renowned for pancakes. Couldn't try them because of a grill problem form street work. Every other dish was great, superb whole grain toast and yummy egg dishes. My pancake guy ate a parfait. A solid start to a long day of walking around Philly. Well worth the trip! Best sightseeing moment: big group of guys, obviously old friends, having a breakfast meet up. Casual yet classy.

“Hurry Up and Wait”
Reviewed December 18, 2013 via mobile

The breakfast quesadilla is a must however the home fries are too greasy with weird flavor. Server was slow and did not check on us periodically. The check on the table was the quickest thing during this experience. Need to explore more options for a good breakfast while in Philly. May try another location next time.
