“Oh My God!!!! You'll Never Finish Your Meal!!!!”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Whenever we are in Philly, this is our go-to place for breakfast/brunch and always the place to take friends/family to impress them with the quantity and quality of the food. The wait staff is always funky and attentive.
We were returning from a wedding in Mecungie, PA and taking family back to the airport but coerced them into eating before they left. They were both happy and well sated for their trip back to St. Louis.
We had gigantic pastrami sandwiches, mounds of challah French Toast, enormous Western omelettes and mind-bending bagels with lox and cream cheese. Always too much to finish, they package the remains so that you can experience them again later in the day.
We even took pictures to send to friends to both let them see how wonderful our meal was and also to make them very, very jealous!!!!!
Don't miss stopping to visit this perfect deli on your next visit to Philly.
Forgot to mention all of the great take-away items that you pass by on the way out of the store. YUM! YUM!!

“Split the sandwich.”

Great selection of food. Something for everyone. Sandwiches are enormous. Do not order two for two people unless you are A very big eater. Very friendly and efficient waiters.

“What's not to love?”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

Rightly famous, and the pastrami!? A true Jewish deli honoring all the great traditions thereof, the pastrami, the brisket, the potato pancakes, the chopper liver and the special chopped liver, the simplicity of presentation, and a chocolate chip cookie to go. If you like Jewish deli's than you'lll love this, it's a perfect instantiation of the archtype.

“Best. Deli. Anywhere.”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

There are very few delis anywhere in the US like it anymore. A hangout - same people are there for lunch every day, it has a cult following because the food is excellent, the portions are obscenely large - you WILL take home leftovers. And the complimentary chocolate chip cookie is the best you will ever have.

“THIS should be on your bucket list!”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

I am not often impressed. I was here.

Taking a step back in time the customer will marvel at the choices provided and can be well assured that whatever they order will satisfy.

As you wait for your order, you view other's plates being delivered and come to realize that you should have had what they are having and resolve to have that on the next visit.

Service was impeccable.

If having a sandwich I recommend one per couple; if desert one per person to avoid conflict. The lox literally melts in your mouth, the sandwich meat tender, moist and savory.

What more can I say?
