I brought my mom here for lunch during the week. No wait, which was awesome. The inside decor is pretty. The menu is on the smaller side but with lots of tempting options - the drink menu is 3x the size! Their drinks looked tasty, and the bar has a great selection. We both got the chicken curry naan-wich and it was DELICIOUS!! Ours came with fries so for $10 it was a wonderful option for lunch in Old City. They even have outdoor seating! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is for service -- our waiter could have been friendlier.

We had a business dinner here and reserved the rooftop bar and lounge. The lower levels of the restaurant are designed with a fun and mod atmosphere with low lighting and plenty of tables and bar space. The direct route to the roof is via elevator and opens up to a open air patio with booth and table seating. Inside, there is a full bar and additional dinner seating. We had a cocktail house for one hour including appetizers: lobster mac and cheese, chicken dumplings, Thai cocked skewers, and red pepper dip. We were seated for dinner and everything was served family style. If nothing else, this place serves a TON of food. Here's everything that came out and was served family style: edamame with sea salt, fried calamari salad with sesame dressing, tuna tartare, crab cakes, BBQ chicken quesadillas, mushroom flatbread pizza, steak over mashed potatoes, sea bass with a sweet potato mash, garlic spinach, cream puffs, s'more cake. Strawberry short cake, chocolate cake, and a peanut butter cup. That's a true story. There was so much food, but I enjoyed most of it. The service was pretty good considering we were a group of about 40. The waitresses appeared a bit frazzled, but they get an a for effort. I would definitely return here for a nice date night.

Warning: the downstairs bathrooms have 2-way mirrors. you have been warned.

Continental offers guests a unique experience with swanky decor, hip music and dishes that are deliciously creative. The rooftop is popular and inviting, the selection of drinks are endless and the staff are well dressed and extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The perfect place to socialize with friends or take a date.

The upper level of the restaurant is my favorite, a separate bar allows for you to feel connected to the entire restaurant so you do not miss a thing. But the absolute icing on the cake are the chairs that hang from the ceiling! This establishment is fun, unforgettable and the best in town.

Pro: Lobster mac n' cheese and swinging chairs

Con: None!

I have paid a few visits to The Continental while in Philly for business. Both were very good experiences. First was with a colleague for a business dinner. Shared hummus platter and a mushroom flatbread. Good wine selection but too pricey. Their wines by the glass are $2-3 more than like offerings elsewhere.

Second visit was with a larger group of peers. We did a lot of sharing. Excellent vegetarian options. The haystack is addictive. The premise of their menu is for sharing. When I was there with this group, everyone loved what they ordered and shared.

Big place. Lots of space. Check out the swings on the second floor. Same with the second floor back bar area. Pretty cool seating.

Service was ok. A bit off-putting at times. Casual indifference. Almost as if some requests were an inconvenience.

Good place for groups, couples, many gathering options. Can get really busy, especially Thursday through Saturday night.

The Continental has great atmosphere from the excellent and unique design choices throughout. The servers are helpful, friendly and authentic to the space. Everything we tried was pretty good, though one oddity: they explain menu items are tapas style (not very large and made to share), yet have enormous salads. Cocktail drinks were good, but not spectacular.
