Our friend took us to this restaurant. Monday night, but it was 3/4 full. The waiters were very good, I would give all stars to the service.
Soup was shrimp bisque. Not bad, not heavy. The "obligatory" ropa vieja was what you would expect of a stew, very tender, no surprises. Tilapia Mango was, perhaps, the best dish - not drowned in butter with a side of delicious mofongo, among other things. Maduro relleno was a bomb in terms of calories, but not as delicious as it should have been: sure, it is a simple dish, but it was executed as such, just a few ingredients but overfried.
Sangria almost seemed non-alcoholic and the lemonade had too much lemon juice and way too much sugar.
Bottom line: do not order too much, though the portions are perfect size, not too large. Just a couple of appetizers and one entre would suffice for two people. $-wise this place is a fair deal.
