Ralph's offers genuine southern Italian foods that rival Mom's. The calamari was prepared just as we've done it at home for 3 generations, and every dish we ordered was cooked perfectly and presented attractively. Service was attentive, but not intrusive. Staff was friendly and well versed on what they were serving. You will not be disappointed.

First time to Ralph's, we went there for my daughter's birthday. Very good food, the ambiance you'd expect from a small South Philly Italian restaurant. Enjoyed it and will go again!

Booked the reservation through Open Table, and noted the birthday on the reservation. All went well, they had it all covered, including that we were a large party, 8 of us.

One warning - watch out for the long peppers. Our waitress told us they are inconsistent - sometimes hot, sometimes not. They were fire! So be warned, you might want to ask your server how they are prior to ordering.

What a great find in Philadelphia and to find out its the oldest Italian resturant in the country! really?? OMG this place had the best food and wine! We were there mid afternoon, very quaint and great service! Even tho we were the only patrons in the place... I loved it and would go again and again if we lived here.

Ralph's Italian restaruant on S. 9th St. is nestled in the heart of the Italian market. I was served a side of beef that was called Ralph's special veal parmesan. There was no way I could have possibly eaten the whole thing. The salads and bread were outstanding, and the service impeccable. Reasonably priced, mouth watering food in an old world atmosphere. Who could ask for more?

have been coming here for ears, but noticed I never wrote a review. Gotta start off with either a Ralph's sald and/or the bruchetta. Both are out of this world. As for the meal, spouse always gets the special, and has never been disappointed. As for me, while the manicotti is OK; would highly recommend either the lasagna or the gnocchi. Both are among, if the the best, i have ever had. The veal parm was also thoroughly enjoyed by others in our party. The red sauce is what makes it, and this red sauce is tremendous. Portion size was more than adeaute; everyone left with a box. Was also pleasantly surprised that there was no fee for the cake our group brought in for a special occasion. Only complaint is that the wine was a bit pricey for a carafe of house wine.
