“Tasty Italian food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

Convenient to our hotel near the Convention Center. A large, traditional Italian restaurant. We got a table without reservation after a only a 15 minute wait at the bar. It was busy that evening. The table had red and white table cloth, not a good sign I thought but the food was quite tasty. The service was good. You could see that the waiter was mature and experienced, the kind you see in European restaurants. With such a crowd, he was very busy but didn't appear too stressed and gave us the required time needed.

“evitare, evitare, evitare”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

all the clichés of a traditional Italian restaurant thrown together, the red / white checkered tablecloths, the framed photos of Italian immigrants on the wall, Frank Sinatra repertoire over the speakers. It looks like a movie set but not an Italian in sight, definitely not working in the kitchen. The menu appears to be an Americanized version of an Italian original.

Our order was served in pure chaos, first came a bland tomato soup, then the cocktails!, then the main course while we had to wait a long time before the waiter finally brought our bottle of wine. The specialty of the house is Rigatoni D with herb-roasted chicken. It turned out to be a tasteless under cooked pasta -we like al dente but this was plainly undercooked- with a sickly sweet sauce in which few mushrooms floated but not a hint of chicken in sight.

All in all a bad experience and something to forget. This restaurant is clearly a tourist trap disguised as a 'classic' Italian restaurant. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

“Good Service, Not So Good Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

Not nearly as good as it used to be. Service was good, but food was somewhat bland and ordinary. The "Maggiano Salad" was bland and overdressed. The chicken dish we ordered lacked flavor and was somewhat dry. I will not return anytime soon.
