On our recent vacation to Philadelphia we went to Davio's on the recommendation of the Hotel concierge, and what a great recommendation it was. Describing itself as an italian steakhouse, it provided us with what was for me the standout meal of our trip. The room is noisy, but not to a level that detracts, and the prices are great for the standard of food and service we received. I had the "cheeses tea"k mini rolls followed by the veal chop. Both were excellent. my wife had particular praise for the "truffle oil Mac'n'cheese" saying it could be the best mac'n'cheese she's ever had. if in Philly give this place a go, you won't be disappointed.

We had lunch at this place on our recent visit to Philly, looking for an Italian restaurant in the center of the city. It was a very pleasant experience. The menu is varied and offers interesting choices. There were five of us and we tried a number of different items - all tasty and well presented. Worth a try.

Four of us went to Davio's for the first time on Sunday evening. We loved every single minute of our dining experience and would highly recommend Davio's! For us, this is more of a special occasion restaurant due to the prices. However, the prices were quite fair for upscale dining and our appetizers and entrees were so outstanding that we felt the prices were quite fair for the quality and presentation. Before we even ordered appetizers, the server brought out warm, home-made bread with 3 different spreads, including a fabulous ricotta-basil-garlic and another one with eggplant and beans, plus olives.

Davio's is located on the 2nd floor in Center City Philadelphia. The room itself has very tall ceilings and lots of windows. The table settings were elegant. The service was the best we have seen in years, and I would give every staff service person that night 5 stars.

If you go on a Sunday, you can bring your own bottle of wine (no corkage fee), which we did.

We cannot wait to go back - 5 stars for the best restaurant experience we have had in ages.

We entered into the old bank floor into loud bar noise it were seated attentively.
Wine was ordered and brought nicely. The room was very noisy.

Our appetizer was excellent. Nicely served and presented. The main course was not served timely. My companions dish of pasta was sticky and glutinous. It was sent back. Dinner was disappointing.
Wait staff was excessively concerned as to our well being and to the suitability of the new dish.
I suspect the original dishes sat too long on the warming shelf. Their problem.
All in all - too many staff people moving about too quickly with little real concern about your dinner except to pour your wine quickly and move you out.
There's better in Philly.

We participated in the wedding rehersal of a dear friend's son at Davio's. The setting, service and food could not have been better . Greeted and escourted to the penthouse where drinks were served to the night views of Philadelphi on the balcony were the wrappings of a great event. Choices from the menu made the event a cross view of the excelence of the cuisine. Service was steady but not intrusive. Wine and water replenished often. Food for fifty served within 10 minutes. All in all a wonderful prelude to the following nuptual.
