Amazing food and great deals if you sign up for their emails. This place is quaint, romantic, and a great way to end the day in the city of Brotherly Love!

Settled on this restaurant when we found our first choice L'Angolo was closed on Labor Day Monday and we weren't disappointed a bit. Would have loved to have the time and appetite to try more items from the well crafted menu, with delectable sounding pastas, fish and veal selections.

We started with solid, flavorful Caesar salads, prepared table-side, to order. All the pastas here are house made, and that showed. The bride had porcini and pancetta stuffed ravioli in a cream sauce. I went for a special that night, osso buco stuffed ravioli served in a port wine reduction.

Both pastas clearly lived up to the "home made" billing and were excellent. Server Brianne was most accommodating and fulfilled a request for gorgonzola stuffed martini olives without hesitation or complaint, taking care of the request personally.

Altogether, a most enjoyable dining experience. Do not hesitate to try Bistro Romano for an excellent example of Italian fare in Philadelphia. We would love to return and would do so without hesitation.

Bistro Romano serves excellent Italian cuisine in a charming atmosphere, with impeccable service. Last weekend we celebrated my birthday there, taking advantage of an e-mail offering returning clients a three course menu with wine for only $29.99, with a $20 certificate thrown in for a future visit! I had the Sicilian Tilapia and my husband had the Pescatore, both of which were excellent. There were 6 choices of entrees from which to choose and we had enough left for dinner the next night. We have traveled extensively and our dinners at Bistro Romano compare favorably with local restaurants in Italy. Bistro Romano uses great marketing strategies, luring diners to return on weekends with Philly's worst weather (hot, humid or cold, snowy) or other times when business may be slow. Respond early if you get that e-mail as they book up early! Get on their e-mail list if possible - you won't be disappointed!

Chose this place because we would be in the area for the weekend based on the reviews here on trip advisor. I am so glad. The place is just beautiful. The piano bar upstairs is very cozy for dining, but we chose to go downstairs to the wine cellar dining area. Very cozy atmosphere.
The place was packed on Sat. night but that did not delay our reservation or service.
The food was fabulous from the Suppli al Telefono and the scallops appetizers, we had the Funghi ravs and the Shrimp and Scallop Venenzia, including a table side prepped caesar salad....all excellent!!! Service staff are all very friendly and very attentive. There are a lot of workers because its such a busy spot and therefore, well run, no waiting and service and food is outstanding, not to mention, not overpriced in any way!
Would HIGHLY recommend and plan to return when in the area.

While this was not the best meal I have ever had at a restaurant - it was still an excellent meal. My wife & some friends went on a Saturday Night to their Mystery Dinner Theater and the whole night was terrific. We have been to several Mystery Dinner Theaters, such as in Florida, New Jersey, and other states, but this was by far the best. Our friends had their Pasta Dinner and said it was really very good, while my wife and I had the fantastic salmon meal. The minestrone soup was very good (and I don't like minestrone soup!) as was the salad. The main entree was served hot and was excellent! The actors were very friendly and played their parts very well. We would not hesitate to return to Bistro Romano!
