“Convenient to the Kimmel Center”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014

We dined pre-theater early on a Saturday evening; it was pretty quiet. The restaurant is one block away from the Academy. Kudos to the front of house; extremely friendly, cordial, accommodating and all around nice. Our server, Gabrielle, was also very helpful and did a fine job guiding us to our menu selections. Overall, every item we chose was good but nothing wowed. Nice selection of specialty cocktails and wines by the glass were okay. The cobia and tuna were good appy choices and the highlight was the skate which was the fish du jour and a "bargain" at $40 shared for two. With dessert we didn't leave hungry but maybe could have squeezed in a side. The rhubarb was very tasty and unique. Good coffee. Tradestone caramel = yum!

“A nice surprise!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

We came across Tietra (about 5:30pm) looking for a small restaurant before a Saturday show at the Philadelphia Academy of Music. Tietra is right around the corner (at Locust St.). Indoor and outdoor seating with a very attentive staff who were genuine with with concern for a pleasant dining experience. We chose to eat outdoors - about 8 round table with enough walking space for two people before the curb - so cars were close. It was quite quiet for a Saturday evening. The inside seating was open (large windows wide open) to the sidewalk. We had the homemade hummus and pita along with grilled pear & spinach salad as our appetizers. Nicely prepared and quite tasty. I ordered the seafood and pasta entree and my wife had the chicken and broccoli over angel hair pasta. Both meals were nicely presented although the chicken entree needed a but more flavor/sauce. Dessert was chocolate cake and raspberry cream cheese cake, Very fresh and not overpowering with sugars or cream cheese. Total meal with drinks and tip came to $100.00. Highly recommended if you are in the Arts district of Philadelphia!
