Standard Tap serves only draft local beers brewed < 100 miles from the bar (i.e. no bottles). That might seem limiting, but with the impressive beer scene in the area, it is not. Yes, you can get the usual mixed drinks there, but you will not find a bottle of Bud. My wife and I eat at the Standard Tap about once a week for the past 5 years and the food is always fantastic. Do yourself a favor and stray from the typical pub fare of sandwiches and try an entree, which might be more expensive than you would think at a bar, but the preparation is top notch and the portions are always hardy.
I love the ambiance of the entire place, but ascend the stairs to the covered deck (which has heat lamps when it is cold). It is a respite from the bustling street and interior bar scene. The larger dinner room upstairs gets you away from the bar while the smaller dining room upstairs has a small bar and a fireplace.
This is a great "off the beaten path" stop for tourists and is even good for families. Check it out.
