We ate here during restaurant week prior to the theatre. The food was delicious and the service was knowledgable and professional. A party of four, we had a very nice booth. The only fault was with the dessert which was mediocre. It seemed to have been only partially heated. It was a very busy evening and that could have been part of the problem. I would certainly go again as everything else was wonderful

This was our first visit to Philly and we were looking for a place for a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed a wonderful meal, attentive service and a very pleasant ambience.our children just relocated in Philly, this is our first visit but we will definitely head back to The Caribou Cafe again!

My wife and I recently went to the theater in Philadelphia, PA, and wanted to find a restaurant in the theater district. We found the Caribou Cafe on Walnut St. during a web search, and found it to be a very inviting and comfortable atmosphere to have some well prepared drinks and excellent food. We were seated in a comfortable booth, and upon further oberservance, found they have a second floor for dining. My wife had their Flank Steak and Caesar Salad and found the steak very tender and a nice spicy snap to their version of Caesar. I had their Escargot for an appetizer, (their garlic sauce was so good I asked if I could have a gallon to take home). I then ordered their Bouche a la Reine, a puff pastry stuffed with tender shrimp in lobster sauce, surrounded by delicious mushrooms. If you want something different in a non stuffy atmosphere, get thee to the Caribou Cafe, EXCELLENT!!!

Loved the "feel" of this place. Our booth was right across from the bar and for a time it was really noisy due to "celebrating" people. There are tables further away and upstairs that would be better and noise might not be a problem. Service was very good. We split the onion soup and a salad of the day. The salad was good, the onion soup was spectacular as was the Caribou Brioche Bread Pudding with white chocolate butterscotch sauce. Our entree was Beef Bourguignon and we should have split the order. It was easily enough for two, especially if you get a salad, soup or dessert. The beef dish was very good, but it is the soup and pudding that would bring us back.

Enjoyed trout and hangar steak at this restaurant prior to a performance at the with Walnut Street theater. Reasonably priced with unique fare of french cuisine. They were accommodating in regards to the time constraints of the curtain.
