We didn't have that great a brunch experience here, but it wasn't all Rouge's fault. After trying several places that were full, we accepted Rouge's eat-at-the-bar offer. And we were right by the door on a cold morning. But we agreed to all that so it's hard to complain. The food was decent. A lamb burger was properly cooked as ordered, but served without an accompaniment. Other dishes showed creativity and were tasty. Portions were average size, which is good or bad depending on your perspective. Service from the bartender was good, but the food took some time to appear. All in all, we didn't give this place a good test, and we have no reason to think that better is not possible.. I would have given 3.5 stars if I could.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place to map out our destination to South street and we wished we never left! The bartender was incredible, so professional and extremely knowledgeable. The drinks surpassed any other we had in Philly, only wish we could have spent more time to experience the food.

We stopped here for lunch on a warm day in March. Outdoor dining was available. The menu was innovative with very good food. Dinner here would be a great choice also.

Maybe it was just because it was Friday night 'tween Christmas and New Year...the crowd here was drunk (we got there at 7:00) and OTT noisy. We were seated 25 minutes late at our table. Food was very ordinary (over-salted). An ordinary red zin for $12.
Go to Sampan!
