This review is for our recent Brunch experience at Matyson.
Our past lunch and dinner experiences were all very good, so we wanted to try their brunch. The menu had just changed to some very fresh, interesting options, although not extensive. All the food we tried was very well prepared and tasty. The ingredients are good quality and done right. Be prepared for small portions and everything a la carte. Adding enough sides can make for an expensive meal. Traditionalists will have a hard time here. Foodies and those looking for something a little different will really enjoy. Go early, as the space is small and noisy. Service is good.

Ate at Matyson as two couples in early April 2013. Went for the set tasting menu which made the most of seasonal produce. Best restaurant experience in a long time.

Last Friday I experienced one of the best dining experiences ever. Matyson has a warm ambiance, an excellent menu and impeccable service. The food was prepared perfectly. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts appetizer and the bass, both perfect to the palate and presented elegantly. My companions also raved about their dinners. Everything was fresh, tasty and beautifully served.

I think this might have been the case of too much hype and not enough payout, at least when it comes to their lunch menu.

We ordered the two soup specials, the fries, the house pasta, the golden tilefish (which was replaced by a bass), and their meyer lemon souffle tart. Nothing was bad but a lot of the dishes were a little bland. The one thing I would go back to order again would be the souffle tart.
